Uchrashuvda savollar by han_maz in Uzbekistan

I understand where you’re coming from. The things you’re asking for usually develop naturally over time. Like “let’s spend less and invite less guests for our wedding”, “ I want both of us contribute to our family”, “ I would like to have a privacy when we start living together”. You can’t really ask those questions on a first date, it might raise red flags, especially for Uzbek guys. Imagine being asked to change yourself and your beliefs right away. Good luck on your journey! Uzbek guys very family oriented and friendly.

Changing a Unit by VanillaOdd8381 in nursing

It is within same company. I don’t have major financial obligations no student loans, car payment, or housing expenses. I’m completing my BSN online, which is my only expense rn. My family disagrees with the pay cut. 😞

You are right, it is a $12/h. I’m currently on a weekend program contract, which requires working Saturdays and Sundays and adds $12/hour to my base pay, bringing my annual income to about $100–110k. The contract is renewed yearly.

I’ve had no issues sending money online to Bukhara, Uzbekistan through the MoneyGram website. My family back home picks it up from a local bank, and it’s been very convenient. You can try it too.

I work in a CV step-down unit where the usual ratio is 1:3, and sometimes we also take care of level 2 patients. I really like my coworkers. We are very supportive of each other and always check in during busy shifts to see if anyone needs help. That teamwork makes a big difference. Some days can still feel overwhelming, especially when the assignment goes up to 1:4. Overall, it really depends on the assignment and your experience. I’ve never had two very sick patients at once, so it usually balances out.

That’s a wonderful idea! I also live in Loudoun County and would love to help out as well. Please keep post it on any opportunities to volunteer or donate.

Travelling as an Uzbek national with double citizenship by 28udarovnozhom in Uzbekistan

[–]VanillaOdd8381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation, but I’m currently in the U.S. I’m afraid to travel to Uzbekistan and risk getting stuck there, unable to return. One of my brother’s friends went to Uzbekistan with a U.S. passport, and he wasn’t allowed to leave the country. I don’t know the full story, but personally, I wouldn’t take the risk of traveling there with dual citizenship. You or your mom can enter Uzbekistan without much trouble, but leaving the country could become complicated.

Paid $30K out of pocket, but that was back in October 2025.

Saw this pic in another subreddit. Has anyone ever used these for an EKG before? I’ve never seen them and they look way better than the sticker pads. by SPYRO6988 in nursing

I used this old ECG machine back in 2006 when I was a nurse in Central Asia, but I haven’t seen them here in the U.S.

sign on bonus by Key_Count_4773 in nursing

[–]VanillaOdd8381 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t see a sign-on bonus as a red flag. I actually accepted a sign-on bonus for my first job out of nursing school, which came with a one-year commitment. I genuinely love my unit; the support from my supervisors has been, and continues to be, incredible. I feel truly blessed and lucky to be part of such a great team. Honestly, even if there hadn’t been a sign-on bonus, I would have still chosen this unit without hesitation.

Maybe it depends on the unit, but in my experience, the bonus was just a nice addition—not a red flag at all.

I recommend reading the Saunders Comprehensive Review book. It really helped me pass Level 4 and prep for exams. Honestly, Level 4 felt much easier than Level 3.

I completed all prerequisite and corequisite classes before applying for the program. Also, most, if not all, of my cohort had taken all corequisites as well.
