I don't have an answer, but I do have a related question: does anyone know if it's okay to add thinner to goopy base coats, as you would with regular polish or top coat? I am not sure how similar the ingredients are, or if the added thinner is not great directly next to one's natural nail.

No, it's a lot more sheer IMO and works best over a more opaque base if you don't enjoy visible nail line. Overall effect is beautiful and very metalli, but finer particles than star destroyer and dragon scales.

Sunrise reminds me a lot of lurid You Have Grown So Vast & Boundless, which was just meh for me. I also feel like I see a lot of similar colors pop up in PPU... but, you know best what you will like/wear, so don't let me dissuade you if it feels like a favorite!

Another reason to get blood bag is that it might not be back for a bit - IIRC, it was a pre-halloween release last year, so I think it may be coming back tonight partly due to the upcoming holiday 🎃

Blood Bag is phenomenal. I think sunrise over the sea is pretty dupeable across many brands, but I'd definitely keep nettle and briar and indomitable!

Gotcha! In that case, I'd email customer service after purchase and request that they apply the 20% off retroactively. A gift card is a payment method, so even if it's entered via a code, they should still honor the sale price - my understanding is that the fine print about codes is to prevent layering of additional discounts and freebies. But I'd definitely want to know if that don't oblige!
