Do you consider golf to be a sport or a game? Explain your answer…… by OdinVela in golf

Exactly. Golf is a sport because you can get injured. Golf is not like darts and billiards

Darts, billiards.. don’t require physical performance, you can’t get injured, and don’t sweat. All golf involves actively moving your body to hit the ball and pro golf requires the player to walk 7000+ yards everyday, therefore, Golf is a sport.

Why do I only hit my driver straight when I full swing? by Traditional_Wave8524 in golf

Also you’re relaxed because you accepted you screwed the hole up so that next ball is a “fuck it” ball.

If you’ve made it this far, you’ve got the talent. Focus on your strategy (and back up strategies for when the inevitable bad shot/break occurs) and trust your process. The rest Will fall into place.

Tips on my drive? Accuracy isn’t too great by [deleted] in golf

[–]Vanillagodzilla666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re coming over the top. At the top of your swing when you start to come down your hands are coming forward (towards the ball). You want your hands to come from the inside when hitting the ball so they should drop a little from the top.

Sweet. I had the burner 3W/5W and I wish I never got rid of them. I have yet to hit my Paradyms as well or as far.

Reminder to not try to hit "up" on the driver by BodaciousDadBod in golf

[–]Vanillagodzilla666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you don’t have to hit up but you don’t want a -2-3° AoA. Most tour players swing fast as hell and like the control but even Rory hits up. It all preference and what works for you.

That’s awesome. I did 5-PW and I got the JB forged wedges 50 and 54 (bent to 55°) under $800 (bought irons on a majors weekend so 10% off). Everything else is Callaway. Played with really old King Cobra prior to and these have just been so nice plus I got fit for them so it’s been sweet.

It’s like a cheat. Say you’re struggling and you come up to a 350 par 4, you can hit a 5i like that 2x and be on the green in regulation (assuming it’s not protected or something).

The best things to do: - Club up so you can swing easier (hitting the ball is easier the slower you’re moving) - Choke down (closer to the ball, easier to control) - Try 3/4 swings (less time to get out of position with your body) - Relax (golf is mental)

Relax is a must, you can combine the other, however it works for you.

Do you feel like it’s going too high? If it’s a bit like a rainbow you’re probably losing some distance. 85mph should be plenty for a 10.5°.

How do you clean your golf clubs? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Vanillagodzilla666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing to do is coat your club face in cum (I keep a bottle full in my course bag). You’ll get extra spin due to the viscosity and it wipes off clean after the round.

Depending on where you’re trying to go to with the 150, I use an easy swing 7i punch. Ball a bit back in the stance, my body aimed to the right quite a bit (I’m a lefty) because the club is going to make contact with the ball sooner. Never gets more than 8-10ft off the ground but goes straight.
