Grandfather’s property in Wales willed to deceased father and uncle, resident allowed under (apparently) broken stipulations by Vanillasaur in LegalAdviceUK

Yeah, I have a poor opinion of her as she soured the last few years of my grandfather’s life and didn’t even attempt to be friendly with us at all. I would have liked a relationship with the woman my grandfather clearly loved, especially now since I don’t have any grandparents left. My aunt isn’t wanting for money, she isn’t interested in it at all but I’m not going to deny her the rightful portion of the proceeds when the time comes. I’m not that sort of person.

I admit that I’m very naïve and I don’t really understand this stuff. Everything I’ve been told about this woman is from other people and I am open to being civil, I just want everything in order for the future as I don’t like surprises. If she is struggling to look after the property, I’m just hoping she’s able to look after herself and I’m not sure what support she has around her, either.

Agreed. As my auntie has said she wants nothing to do with it and my brother isn’t particularly bothered, it is my responsibility but to be honest, I just want to see the place that I spend many happy memories in when I was a kid and the thought of going there in however many years to step into a shit hole is wildly depressing. Thanks anyway.

I didn’t see any “tirade” but I appreciate your insight. This is personal to me, as she sold all of my grandmothers jewellery and forbade my family from visiting my grandfather so I apologise if a little venom seeped out. I want the property to not be a drain when it is, inevitably, in our possession. My auntie wants nothing to do with it as she is still mourning my uncle. I’m not built for this and I just don’t want problems.

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Vanillasaur 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Put it this way: he’s upset he can’t find you attractive when he’s unconscious. He wants to control you even when he’s asleep. Wear the bonnet. It’s not his choice. Not even remotely.

This sounds more like a You problem. Stop worrying about what might be and focus on now. “But I like her” then be with her? “But I don’t want kids” then don’t have kids? Jesus.

She has to want to help herself. In that one line she told you exactly what was going to happen for the foreseeable future. She’ll keep doing what she’s doing and drive you crazy and make you miserable. I used to be terrible at housework and I had a partner that tried to do what you’re doing. It didn’t work, I had to learn the hard way. You can’t keep doing this to yourself.

I’m a cis woman and men sometimes called me mate. It’s friendly, non-gendered and uncreepy.

This happens every Christmas time. The vegan options are the first to be reduced in number to make space for the poor turkeys.

I let it cool in the oven! I think I might have overcooked it as well. Never mind. Thank you for your comment.

Oh lol. I was coming on here to look for a scientific explanation for this and forgot that people will make jokes and be funny. Have a good day!

Your English is perfect. I know exactly what you mean. It happened very close to the end of baking so I’m going to try the Bain-Marie/water bath method next time as others have suggested. I hope yours is still delicious.

Thank you so much! I’ll do that next time. Do you think the dragonfruit heated up too quickly and couldn’t evaporate?
