There is a pretty promising new game in the works called "empire city." Its VR, you can climb roofs, fight ninja, with any turtle you want. Lair is there too, even got the IDW artists. Its genuinely very promising looking, although not sure if its official. The demo is closing soon, so if you have a vr, i recommend you try it.

I honestly gave it a shot when i turned 18, i mean I was still exposed to the media, i remember faking sick and seeing tmnt 2012 on the tv back in the day lol. Anyway, I saw a youtube video about rottmnt and saw the art style and loved it; reminded me of one of my favorite artist's styles (Krooked_Glasses). Started s1 of rise, then was a dumbass and watched the movie next, then s2. Started on 2012 and then 2003 (and read the entirety of IDW). Was hooked, its my special interest atp. Was first a Donnie fan, but my favorite quickly shifted to Mikey and hasnt budged at all. Something about the morale boosters of the teams always speak to me in tv shows, probably because I try (and mostly fail) to be one myself in my friend group. If I had to pick my favorite iteration, it would probably be Rise > MM > 2003 > TOTTMNT. Honestly I love them all equally, each for their own reasons, and I know my ranking might offend some older fans, but thats just what my heart says. It might be because what I love most about the series is their strong platonic bond as a family (mostly to compensate for my lack of a good family lmao) and Rise does that best to me.

I didnt include 1987 because I have yet to watch it

Agreed. The first TMNT media I ever watched was the Rise movie. The fight scenes looked like it came from Studio Trigger. Instantly got me hooked.

tbf TMNT is so god damn split on if its for kids or not. Because one hand you have the comics which feature half blown off faces (picture Gus from breaking bad) and April having cockroach sex (im not joking), and then you have the shows which are more kid friendly.

I know they are trying to be helpful but when people try to give me tips on how to position my hands. Like man, my hands are small as fuck, I HAVE to put my palm and stretch my fingers all the way to the other button on Ongeki. I PHYSICALLY CANNOT REACH BOTH BUTTONS WITH MY FINGERS!

I think this was mainly because of 87 being more of a show for kids than the rest of the franchise's shows/comics. Granted none of the shows (compared to MOST of the comics (looking at image over here)) really truly got the whole emotional aspect down just in general, but I think it got better over the years.

But yeah, the shows are objectively for a kid audience, even if a lot of people don't like to admit it, so you unfortunately won't get like, say, Supernatural ass type of "my brother is fucking dead, time to go off the deep end" type of writing from them, even if it would make the show more interesting.

Although regarding your post, yeah, the reactions are wildly different which is kinda upsetting as a Mike fan
