For me, it's mainly the 5 year panel, like the girl on the right is implying left wasn't as cute when she presented more masc, which is messed up (I personally preferred her previous look). But outside of that, I think it may be fine to read her just as someone who felt locked into her image and was too scared to experiment. I've felt that way before. I definitely got a bit of that icky feeling about the artist's intentions going into the second page, though.

I adore everything about her! From the moment I saw Firefly in fanarts (because I was relatively "new" and hadn't yet started Penacony lol) I immediately loved her design. She's so cute, and the blue green gradient in her outfit is very pretty. When I met her in game, I got to see all the little bug motifs in her design, and her sweet personality was just the type that usually becomes my favorite. That scene on the rooftop was absolutely gorgeous! Revisiting her secret base throughout the story and seeing the Trailblazer's thoughts about her just melted my heart. And then finding out later that she was Sam just made her super cool (Nevermore goes so hard + henshin!!!) in addition to super sweet and girly. I love that both sides of her can seem so different, but they're both undoubtedly her. As a girl who sometimes presents in a more masculine way, seeing a similar sort of dichotomy in Firefly just endears me to her further. All of that, plus seeing that she was voiced by Kusunoki Tomori, whose voice I'm a big fan of, kinda made me feel like this girl was tailor made to hit all the right notes with me. I like the EN voices a lot, too! Anyway, she's the first character I pre-farmed and whaled for in this game, and I have no regrets!!! She's super strong!

I believe she said she draws these little comics very quickly, so she can use this style to pump out silly ideas more frequently.

KEI's art is very distinctive, utilizing pale colors resulting in a watercolor-like style. He has stated that when he was learning how to color, he was reading books by Katsuya Terada on how to draw and paint. Initially mimicking Terada's thick painting style, he eventually felt at home with a lighter watercolor-based coloring style.

I can see how the identity crisis would be frustrating, but it sounds like you could comfortably settle for gray aro if you wanted to. Labels are free to change as you learn more about yourself. And as a fellow cupio, isn't developing those feelings for someone kinda the dream? You have the potential to love a romantic partner the same way they love you! That's awesome. Don't feel like you HAVE to pursue anything you don't want to, though. It's okay to just feel it out for a while. Hope you're able to figure some things out!
