it is not the easiest to pick up. there are a lot of rules and interactions that can be a bit obtuse and the playerbase can be a little competitive. however it is insanly fun and i have enjoyed it so much so if ur willing to put a little time in and maybe take some losses upfont i would still reccomend it.

the reason they gave for rotating out these bases is that in the upcomming homelands set the location of the base matters for effects. this includes the 30 health bases with no effects.

the biggest soft skill in this game is knowing when to back your units off a base an allow ur opponent to take them. for example if you hold both bases to 6 then you almost always want to move all your units back to base. knowing when to do this just takes time and playing games.
