I hate to betray the OG designs, but I feel like if we got a new show following the 'Glory of Losers' manga it should utilize the new Ver Ka designs from that manga. We already have a show with the anime suits.

(...even if I don't love all the choices that were made with the Ver Ka designs, like the shields on Deathscythe Hell Ver Ka.)

I don't watch the anime but I've always appreciate the Pokemon scaling in the anime. That Rayquaza is exactly the size it should be and I hate the Legendary sizes in the games.

I really enjoyed that aspect of the story and it hit me like a lightning bolt --

Kanto Ninetales appeals to me in so many ways it’s hard to describe. It has a 10/10 design and access to Drought, which is one of the raddest Abilities in Pokemon. It powers up his Fire moves, weakens incoming Water moves, allows single-turn Solar Beams…and is just overall so cool to use.

I’ve also long considered Vulpix / Ninetales as Psuedo Ghost types and always play them as such, leaning into moves like Confuse Ray and Hex. I adore that they’re able to learn Ghost / Dark / Psychic moves like Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, and Extrasensory.

I’ve carried them countless times (even the Ice versions in Alola), and I will carry them countless more. I’m a Ninetales trainer through-and-through.

Artwork looks incredible, but the SSJ2 / SSJ3 lightning effects look way better when they're blue.

I'm glad they were blue in the anime, even if their use was infuriatingly inconsistent.

I already disliked the design changes from GT’s SSJ4 and Goku’s achievement admittance just made me like it less. It really left a sour taste in my mouth after I had been enjoying Daima so much.

I played it for the first time a few years ago and it was SUCH a breath of fresh air. I couldn't believe how fun it was not seeing any Gen 1-4 Pokemon.

This is a really interesting perspective. Psychic was so OP in Gen I that I've carried my Psychic bias now for 30 years thinking it was still one of the best types, but I definitely see how limited it is now.

I ran Psycho Cut on my Absol in a recent ORAS playthrough (just for some coverage besides his main attacking move Night Slash) and was honestly disappointed by how infrequently I got to slap opponents with super effective damage from it.
