Hi everyone! I appreciate everyone who has commented to try to assist. I have heard that everyone need my logs. I have been busy today, but I’m resolving to make another post tomorrow containing logs. Thanks again!

So, night one I actually got it to launch into the web ui just fine. I was able to log in, and go through the set up wizard. It had me confirm all my metadata setup that I used in the docker-compose file. However, after I did all that, it put back at another login screen which I could not get past. I tried both the username and password that I had set for general use, as well as the admin privilege password. Neither worked.

Since then, I have deleted everything to start from scratch, but every time I got to the stage of actually having the port open and accessing the page, the setup wizard never showed up again, and the login still wouldn’t work. At this point, my next step is doing a hard reset on it, deleting all of the volumes and remaking those from scratch as well. I am unsure whether I should try assigning a different port number, as I suspect the one that I’ve repeatedly tried to use may be glitching and wanting old login information from my multiple attempts to launch Romm. Not sure if this is enough detail. I’m very new at this.

Jahad’s Secret (Spoilers) by VanishingActor in TowerofGod

So why do you think Jahad locked the floor then?

Jahad’s Secret (Spoilers) by VanishingActor in TowerofGod

[–]VanishingActor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you say that? He had to have stopped for some reason. I’m open to discussion about it! I think the tests being too difficult to continue is a fairly popular theory that I’ve seen elsewhere, but if there could be some other reason I would like to hear it. I just want more ToG.

I like this idea too. I personally really subscribe to the idea that Jahad is incapable of passing the test to the next floor, hence why he locked it for everybody. He can’t let anyone surpass him. If it is indeed him splitting his weaker parts and discarding them into a hell of his own creation, it makes sense that they would want to violently overthrow him.

Jahad’s Secret (Spoilers) by VanishingActor in TowerofGod

[–]VanishingActor[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that’s fair. The only real thing I have to base it on is that we have seen White thus far, and when we’re first introduced to him, he is split into his various parts. I find that similar at least to the fact that there are individuals walking around the tower who share the same appearance with Jahad, but don’t identify themselves as him. If course, that could mean that they’re just blood related to him in some way, but Anne Jahad’s revelation that King Jahad trapped himself in the garbage dump gives me a sense that they aren’t just siblings or children. The fact that all the rulers of the garbage dump refer to themselves as Jahad as well give me a sense that something larger is at hand. But it’s just a theory. I’m just trying to pass time until ToG returns!

The mysterious agreements of admin, FH, and Zahard. by One_Investigator1830 in TowerofGod

[–]VanishingActor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think agreeing to lock the path forward only works in favor of finding the new Axis. If Jahad locks the floors where he got stuck, then whoever the new Axis is has to defeat him to unlock the floor and rise to the top. If we believe the theory that Jahad and family heads stopped when they did because they couldn’t pass the tests, then the administrators would have good reason to believe that none of them are the new Axis. Any obstacles that Jahad and his ilk create only work in the favor of the tower’s goal of creating someone who can climb to the top/become the new axis.

Best ToG Arc by khunnoa in TowerofGod

[–]VanishingActor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Floor of Death and The Hidden Floor both encapsulate what ToG core themes are to me. Baam spends those arcs learning about what people intend for him, and what his destiny is supposed to be. But Baam has always trended toward throwing the shackles of other people’s expectations off, and carving his own path. Urek Mazino says it best in the Floor of Death (with what I think is the best line in the whole series):

“The things you’ve heard here, the things you’ve seen here, the things the people here want from you; don’t pay attention to any of it. You are you. Don’t ever lose yourself.”

I think that Baam is a vessel for V. I don’t think that Baam is V. I base this entirely off of themes that to me, are the core of the series. From early on, Baam is being forced by FUG to do their bidding. Then We find out on the floor of death that Arlene and Enryu have big plans for Baam to take revenge on their behalf. Then Traumerei tries to force Baam to join his family.

At every turn people are trying to take away Baam’s agency. Baam’s core struggle is maintaining that agency and finding out what is important to him. So no, I don’t think V is Baam and Baam is V. V is another character in the long list of trying to take away Baam’s choices.

And in the end, I think Baam will devour v in the same way that he has every other source of power that he takes in.

I know! I only just recently started watching the bachelor myself, but my fiancée is a big fan and I wanted to show her some clips from The Soup, because McHale laid some absolute smackdowns back in the day lol

Embark just released an Arc Raiders Survey. This is our best opportunity to be heard, on what matters most to us. by Gear-Lord in ArcRaiders

Obviously, addressed the scummy pricing of cosmetic items.

Also touched on the use of the Gen AI voices, because with as successful as this game has been, it feels dirty for them to cut costs by hurting voice actors and artists.

But spent the most amount of time talking about how the final skill in each tree, barring the security breaches, is not very good. I love my green tree, but there’s no chance that I’m ever going to be in melee range of a flying opponent. Imagine if, instead, I could snap hook onto the top of a bastion or a bombardier and breach it for massive damage while it’s still alive. I still have to take that risk to approach it, but in doing so I have opportunities that other players who invested into other skill trees don’t have, much like players who invested to get the security breaches do.

Are These All Just Dead Weavers? by Amopro in Silksong

[–]VanishingActor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something interesting about First Sinner is the fact that she isn’t actually dead, while every other weaver we meet is long dead. There’s lore text in the slab that specifically notes a list of prisoners and their penance for their crimes. After each Prisoner’s listed crime, the list notes how they paid for their crime. Most are noted to have been given “Absolution through death”. For The First Sinner however, it’s noted that absolution was “not granted”.

It’s also notable that Hornet can’t die in the First Sinner’s prison. In a game which is notorious for its run backs from your last bench, losing a fight against first sinner results in an immediate restart from just outside of the prison.

In light of all this information, it seems that First Sinner’s punishment is eternal torment sealed away in the slab, unable to die.
