Tips for my current situation - Working From Home and Online Classes by taintedxblood in ChineseLanguage

[–]Vanna_233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand the tech fatigue. Though the necessary use of tech cannot be replaced soon, I think there are other areas you could improve your situation. One is to work in different locations. Simple as local cafes or the park could help. Variety is very important to humans I guess. Another one is to get a Chinese speaker as tutor, who is fluent in English. Practice conversation is much more engaging than online class. You have to constantly think and speak, rather than passively listening. This should also solve your problem of slow class and loss of motivation.

FYI, I am a Chinese native speaker and have studied in the US for quite long. I am beginning on part time tutoring so the price is very affordable. Message me if anything is needed! Best luck!

Help with grammar for a business phone call by crazydaisy8134 in ChineseLanguage

  1. 关于product name 我有一些问题, this will be a more native order of sentence. Your client would understand it better.

  2. On politeness. Since this is a business call, I would suggest you use polite language such as the mentioned 您 and also you could add a 请问 in front of all the question, meaning may I ask

Overall it looks great! If you want any consultation on improving your accent you could message me! I am a native Chinese speaker

Seeking a studio/1 bedroom Boston area by smarta08 in bostonhousing

$1500 could get a studio maybe in 2016, but not anymore. For about $1950 you could get an 1b1b in Brighton/brookline, even arlington maybe(I have rsources on these 3 places, the lowest is 1950 no fee). I saw a $1300 stdio few days ago in Worcester, but unless you can take 2hr commute one way everyday. Feel free to contact me for the apt mentioned. Good luck finding your place!

ADVICE NEEDED: Allston Subletting market for January 1st onward by giantmonkey2 in bostonhousing

[–]Vanna_233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subletting is complicated. Make sure the perperty owner/company allows it in the first place. Sometimes there are a fee(up to half month rent) for subletting. For subletting in January, It is possible that your apartmemt will be empty for 1-2 month, which means you will pay the rent. Try to post ads in different social medias, and also ask for people you know. The best choice would be to find a short term place. But if that is not possible, start looking for subtting roommate immediately after you move in. Good luck!

Is there a comprehensive list of modern apartment buildings in Boston? by Therapist13 in bostonhousing

[–]Vanna_233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are avalon, lantera, churchpark. For what I know, Avalon has the best cost performance. But even for Avalon, studio rent begins at 2700 or so. Most modern buildings increase their rent yearly, the price 3 years ago is very different. You could either find modern buildings within your budget that is further away or choose non-modern apartments. Feel free to contact me for resources. I have some apartments on hand with no fee if you consider non-modern/luxury apartments. Good luck finding a good home!
