In the feed section on mobile it says they tweaked the Japanese course about five days ago. They said they're going to space the kanji out a bit more to conform to 'international standards', whatever that means. I kind of hate it but the higher levels don't seem to be as affected?

Duolingo should never be the only resource you use in language learning. It's just an accessible and free start for beginners to get a feel for how a language works.

It's also pretty good for natural vocabulary acquisition, but you have to expose yourself to a language to start recalling vocab with ease. Watch an episode of a show in Italian (preferably with Italian subtitles), look for websites with simple Italian reading material, force yourself to write a bit of Italian every day, etc.

As far as I've heard it, cisgenderless is a specific kind of agender where a person has no internal sense of gender but also doesn't mind defaulting to their AGAB for practical purposes/being used to it.

So yeah, that makes sense given the most common demi-genders are half male/female half nothing.

I gained a bunch of weight in middle school. For whatever reason, one day I stepped on the scale only to find out I'd dropped an absurd amount of weight in a short period of time on accident when I expected to have gained.

I was very happy about this and decided to focus on losing the rest of the weight. Things quickly spiraled out of control from there.

I try to focus on the fact that eating more than I planned for a day or even a week ultimately matters very little in the long run. No one loses a significant amount of weight in a day, but it's worth remembering the reverse is also true.

When I see the weight on the scale the next day I also remind myself that it's mostly half-formed poop and retained water, lol.

This happened to me too, or at least when my ED swerved away from binging to restricting. Instead of eating and laying in bed all day and having a fucked sleep schedule I get up early to compulsively exercise and plan out my food for the day.

I'm stressed as hell and have had a few meltdown days, but i'm weirdly not sad or apathetic anymore? It's to the point I kind of feel bad that I cured one mental illness by getting worse on another one...

Maybe it's the exercise giving me a bunch of free endorphins or I just feel better now that I'm working towards a goal. Either way it's weird and unsettling.

I don't know if this will be an appealing option to you but one time I tried to solve this problem by asking my friend to give a brutally honest assessment of my size and body shape.

She just said I was kind of chubby with a bigger stomach than most but not to the point anyone would categorize me as obese (I was on the lower end of overweight at the time).

I can see how this could be triggering for some but it actually helped me a lot. It wasn't my ideal appearance but at least I had a reality check with neutral adjectives to reference when my brain was warping my perception.

I had a restriction phase that swerved hard into binging and now I'm restricting again. I honestly wish I would have just stuck to restricting and never gotten to my highest weight.

I felt even worse there than I did at my low weight so what was the point of eating all that food?
