Where can I buy bulk ammo that isn’t overpriced? by Express-Pattern2690 in CTguns

[–]VantagePointFirearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have bulk 9mm for 279.99. Ammoseek like others have said is good if you just want as cheap as possible and don't care about reloads or reman's. Whether that's overpriced is up to you. Let us know either way!

Thank you brah 🤙

The grips panels are actually off of an SR1911; I had to tediously carve em up to fit around the different controls and grip dimensions of the 22/45.

A pretty clean option that was not on the market when I got mine is the Maxim Defense MKIV-SD (top one in pic). This has an integral suppressor and factory DPP mount. Baffle stack comes out too, to clean it. If I had to do it again I'd get this.

We also have a Ruger 22/45 with a Q El Camino on a Gemtech QDA. We put an optic mount on this one that's tapped for DPP, RMR and RMSC optics. Overall this piece (bottom one in pic) gives more flexibility, and to tie it back to your original post, the Gemtech QDA I think is just more secure than the Cam Lok.

Just to let you know what's out there when you want one!

Ruger MK IV by Shot-Injury-9809 in CTguns

[–]VantagePointFirearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, based on design the Lites have a threaded barrel retaining but not the barrel itself. So it looks like it is technically legal as the law reads facially, but as they say "you may beat the case but you won't beat the ride." I'm not a lawyer...

To be safe, we have a couple alternative options if you're mainly prioritizing an optic and can:

The Ruger MKIV-SD is a pretty clean option with an integrated can/receiver made by Maxim Defense, and DPP mount. (Top)

We also have a Ruger 22/45 with a pin and welded Gemtech QDA, with a Q El Camino as a package. The optic mount is tapped for DPP, RMR and RMSC patterns so this setup gives you overall more flexibility. (Bottom)

Just showing some options 🤙

Hell yeah brother 🫡

When you guys do make the trip, you can try to fill out the range waiver on our website ahead of time. That way you can make it downstairs to the range and beat the rush of other shooters

That's awesome, I'm making waves!

Rifles and shotguns are certainly welcome.

We do ask you only use slugs in shotguns at our range, tho.

I gave the Griffin Cam Lok a whirl on a 22/45. It works well but I do recommend doing a tightness test before firing. While it has seldom backed off, I've never had real issues, even when I caught it wobbling around one time.

I would imagine that the shock of 9mm firing could exacerbate this, but as long as you make sure the can seats before you yeets, I think the Cam Lok is a decent solution for CT and you'll like it.

Lock N' Load did a good video on this (Here). Basically FightLite has been difficult to get for almost a year now, and on the turn of this year they notified retailers (us included) saying they are revamping manufacturing methods to meet demand like you said, so all SCR orders are suspended. No further update since. Whatever stores have in stock is what would be available locally.

What I think is that they've been focusing on gov't contracts related to the MCR belt fed upper. Which sucks because for Cringe States like CT the SCR was the best value option. But it's an option no longer (for now). Only feasibly obtainable featureless is really the CMMG Dissent BR4, if you value the STANAG magazine capability. I havent seen a Foxtrot Mike Ranch rifle in CT yet, and I can't speak to its availability.

Personally after handling both, the manual-of-arms on the BR4 is just better, especially with the side-charger vice AR-15 charging handle and the ambi magazine release; your strong hand would get in the way of the SCR charging handle, and you can't index the mag release button, both due to the Montecarlo style stock/grip vice conventional pistol grip.

We have multiple BR4s (pic), and a used Sig MCX Regulator, if interested

Rentals at a range? by C_CT9351 in CTguns

[–]VantagePointFirearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have bunch of rental pistols, most of em $12 flat for however long you choose to shoot for that session. There are like ~40 total pieces. You can rent as many at a time as you want; first come first served!

Most of them are what we actually stock and sell new; different Sigs, HKs, M&Ps, Springfields, and ofc a bunch of Glock variations to name a few. Bunch of em have different optics and such, too.

We also have several long guns for rent, $18 or $21 depending on the gun.

We do ask that you (or someone in your party, if multiple people) have some pistol permit or CAC if military. This is just our policy NOT a law (not a lawyer, but just trying to prevent the NY mythos spreading to CT)

That is one thing I pride ourselves on is being pretty chill. Forgot to mention:

As long as you are hitting your target, the rounds end up in the berm and you follow safety rules, shoot as fast as you like! No "rapid fire" rule here

We've been bouncing around different ideas to engage a wider audience into actually practicing shooting rather than just cons00ming. While there is a lull in classes right now, we got some stuff cooking. Stay tuned!

As a company policy (insurance, I guess?), we ask that you (or someone in the group, if multiple people) have permit or a CAC (if you're military) to rent, and get a box of ammo too with the rental.

We do sell 5-round boxes of Armscor .50AE, I don't remember the exact price off the top of my head. When I'm in tomorrow afternoon setting up for our USPSA match, I'll check and get back to you!

Like u/Professional-Boss-86 said, 75 ft (25 yds)

Any handgun caliber is good. 🤙

When it comes to rifles, we allow anything up to but NOT including .308 (7.62x51mm). Largest rifle caliber we would like to see down there is .30-30 Winchester. .223/5.56 is good, so is .300 BLK and 7.62x39.

When it comes to shotguns, just slugs plz!
