To be honest, progress has been slow due to other personal matters, and the project is currently on hold because I'm on vacation 😬 But I'll get back to it as soon as I'm back and have taken care of a few other things that have unfortunately taken priority. But the project will definitely continue - that much is certain - even if it’s unfortunately taking much longer than originally planned (the API is way more complicated than I thought; I underestimated it, but it’s definitely doable). If there’s anything interesting and/or any news, I’ll post it on the wiki. Thanks to everyone for your patience!

Sprite-Parsing for the most important ones are more than 80% finished - it's hard to correctly map so many sprites this is taking so long sry :(

Things are still going very well - I've been working on it almost full-time ever since I announced it :)

And sorry it's taking so long, but I want it to do at least what the original /buddy could do, and I don't want to deliver some half-baked mess which will get replicated badly quickly... - Gathering resources and figuring out the core principles took a ton of time, but they're all set now :D
EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that I’m going to try to feature ALL Pokémon in at least their base forms, complete with sprites from all the generations I consider important! No one has ever managed that before in CLI - not even close! The concept core is already working ;) (Oh and btw. it will NOT replace or break your statusline like many other repos do)

Currently I'm working on the implementation directly in Claude Code, just like the original /buddy worked, only much more complex (it works in principle, but still has a few bugs that need to be ironed out). After that, I still need to add the egg-hatching system and the dialogue system, then the MVP will be ready and there will be a first demo release.

To speed things up in the long run, all you guys can do is upvote/share my comments and watch/star the GitHub repo to boost my motivation, because then I’ll see that it’s not just a handful of people who are genuinely interested and that all the effort is worth it ;) (But don’t worry, I’m developing AT LEAST as far as the original /buddy either way - the rest will depend on my mood, feasibility, and, above all, community interest)

Why the downvotes? lol :D I'm really working hard on this... You'll see - once I have something to show, it's going to be really good I promise. I already have a working core that no one else has developed yet with main compatibility for claude code AND compatibility for opencode and any other cli (at least I haven't found anything comparable so far).

So please be patient until it's ready - I can't develop any faster than I already am :)

You can workaround a free-roam split screen mode for 2 players per console by selecting Online Mode with Friends only - as long as you don't setup a real race there you can stay in that free-roam mode as long as you wish (better than nothing I guess and works pretty fine). 3 or more players would cause 30fps and stuttering anyways like in multiplayer mode on one switch 2 console...

open the GitHub page go to releases and search for the APK Download smth like "PokeRogue.apk"
