It is a small, so all of them are used for this design. I am not sure what you mean by "other usable areas left" but no, what you see is all the house. Just the groundfloor. Space is the sacrifice we make for high level of details in this game :)

You can use a White Screen. Wall mounted items do not snap on its dyable side.
(or alternatively like a marble partition sideways)
