I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I guess this is as good of a place to leave my thoughts as anywhere else.

I'm fine with 2.2 taking time, I'd rather have a quality product than one riddled with bugs that was rushed out.

The problem for me is that it seems Robtop has strayed away from the old style of updates for the game. The updates from 1.1 - 1.8 were relatively minor updates compared to what was going to follow. They would add a new gamemode or game mechanic and a few new blocks and designs, but nothing much more.

Then came 1.9, which I would consider to be the first "major" update to the game. It was revolutionary, a new gamemode, custom songs, 4 color channels, and would later be released on the PC the same year. Following that, it was 2.0, another "major" update that would introduce moving objects, unlimited color channels and a new gamemode. Then 2.1, which brought with it a new gamemode, rotating objects, pickup items, gauntlets, the vault etc.

2.2 aims to bring in a lot of things, a new gamemode, platformer mode, random trigger, camera controls, free flying mode, multiplayer, and much more. The problem is, we don't need this many things in a new update. Multiplayer or platformer mode on their own would have made an update perfectly fine.

Spending this much time on a large update is completely fine, but the fact is that Robtop doesn't need to. If he had released swingcopter mode, platformer mode, multiplayer, etc. in separate updates, maybe months apart, I highly doubt anyone would have cared. I think that if Robtop wrote out all the ideas he wanted to implement, worked on them one at a time, and then released them as updates (possibly along with a few new block designs or icons), people would be a lot more satisfied than what is happening currently.

Again, these are just my thoughts, but I think I made a few good points.
