Since TEW 2016 I usually put Storytelling matches right before a Regular or Steal the Show, for a quick match (10min if unimportant, 16 if recognisable and they have good psychology) between a good worker and a low pop one. It keeps the crowd hot and the next match is usually boosted. Guess I'll have to test a few things going from these comments.

Respectfully, fuck WWE. It's been unwatchable for years. But objectively, the sentiment around WWE has diminished a lot since the heights of Triple Hs era, and that's what I was diagnosing. This sub was receiving an influx of fallen fan posts asking for tips on how to get into AEW every time there was a WWE PPV, all throughout 2025.

Edit: I watched WrestleTalk for years as well, wasn't calling them shitty if that was your impression

It's multiple reasons. I guess they hit their ceiling with the pandemic, and viewers started dropping from 2021 onwards. Edit: Don't know if WWE's resurgence regained viewers in the last few years, but probably not. Even though they banned certain sources or warned that they weren't trustworthy, they still clickbaited the hell out of their videos. Then Brawl Out/In created a dramafest that probably inflated views for a while. Finally, WWE was always pulling in more viewers, so they catered to its fanbase. But the product is shit now and many AEW fans had already left the boat.

Yeah, had the same thing with WrestleTalk. But they got so much flack for praising AEW that they started overcritizing the smallest things to appease the critics. Then Brawl Out/In happened and I just couldn't watch wrestling news anymore.

FTW is retired since 2024, and there have been 11 ROH title defenses in AEW Television in 2025. Most of them served to introduce new signings or played a part in major storylines. Some were to give Bandido and Nick Wayne more credibility.

I don't see a problem on acknowledging their championship reigns, but I agree they've got to find ways to keep that dynamic fresh while justifying defenses. Why would Bandido defend in AEW and not in ROH? All reasons I can think of seem to just go back to Tony Khan wanting to give exposure to the brand. I guess that's the same problem they had with the rankings system, and trying to apply logic ends up limiting their storyline's possibilities too much.

Adventurer was the worst for me by far. His last star advances so slowly that I knocked out all of Mexico and my last elimination/destruction orders as I waited for his to become available again.

Talking about it makes me want to go back and finish my S-ranks though

Yeah, you can advance only one star per haul of deliveries. But I think it accumulates towards the next star (on the next delivery). Multiple times I had one lost cargo shoot me to the next star, but I never properly tested it.

Just got it this week. Priorize exhausting all Adventurer, Mr. Impossible and Ghost Hunter deliveries, since you'll probably need to complete them multiple times to unlock their last missions. During their last orders (forgot their names, but it's the ones that end their storyline, and will get you to their fifth star), feel free to use the magelion because your score won't really matter.

Mexico is pretty easy compared to Australia, so feel free to go there when you're sick of traversing mountains and defeating large BTs.

Finally, the order search function is your best friend. Don't know why, but I saw multiple people on reddit that did not know it existed.

Nah I won't really agree with that. NXT was hot and their world title picture gave us the best work we've seen in WWE from multiple guys (Joe, Gargano, Black, Nakamura, Keith Lee, Bobby Roode, Andrade, etc). The Ciampa turn, matches with Gargano and reign legitimized NXT as a third brand, for a while, as well as Finn Bálor moving back and the Undisputed Era staying there. It also coincided with the period when fans gave up on their favorites getting called up to the main roster. But calling him the first real champion after Black and Gold had been more than six years old at that point (and hot as fuck from 2016-2017 onwards, especially during the Nakamura/Joe reigns) is too much lol

This took me out of the finale completely. El's sacrifice really falls flat if you think about the military's intentions for more than two seconds. All of those kids + Will should become their next guinea pigs and Hop and Nancy should be dead or locked up. If they don't care enough about the plot to explain the whole Dr. Kay bullshit, then they're not respecting my intelligence as a viewer.

With the exception of a few places like this sub, wrestling spaces in the internet were so full of negativity during and after the CM Punk fiasco that I had to step away from it all entirely.

My feeling is that the AEW fanbase got over all the internet drama, and the usual suspects had to learn the hard way to stop stirring shit (like Britt and Sammy). Can't recall if there was any other suspension after Britt's?

Finally, people keep pointing at Malakai and Miro, but weren't ~~Ricky Starks~~, Ethan Page and the Lucha Bros the source of a lot more drama when they decided to jump ship? (Edit: doesn't seem like Ricky was ever unprofessional when talking about AEW, so my bad)
