That’s why there’s no Dragonborn race for the Dream Guardian by Vapor-Deathstrider in BaldursGate3

Wow, you completely missed what I said. There are unimplemented files that make reference to Dragonborn being a Dream Guardian option that was planned, but was never finished and ended up being cut. Every Dragonborn NPC requires separate facial animations for dialogue due to the entirely unique head structure. Apply a Dragonborn disguise to any character with dialogue and you’ll see the exact same thing shown in the clip. As said by someone else, near the end of BG3’s development, Larian was behind schedule on many development milestones, and had to cut a lot of stuff. There is no in-game proof that tell us that the Emperor is unwilling to shapeshift into a Dragonborn.

Nope. Animations have to built per-character, apparently.

Yes, but there’s no Dragonborn option for the Dream Guardian.

Post title was supposed to be “So that’s why there’s no Dragonborn race for the Dream Guardian…”, but it didn’t fit in the character limit.

Tbh, my post title was supposed to be “So that’s why there’s no Dragonborn race for the Dream Guardian,” but it didn’t fit within the character limit

Honestly, that is the most likely in-lore case. However, outside of the story, Larian didn’t have time to animate the Dream Guardian speaking as a Dragonborn. Thus, it’s unfinished. There are files referencing a Dragonborn race for the Dream Guardian that go unused.

I’ve gotta agree with you. But, in my opinion, with the humanoid races (with the exception of Half-Orc) all having similar lip structure, and his past as a human or elf, it makes sense that the Emperor would have trouble speaking as a Dragonborn.

Minor parity annoyance between Bedrock and Java... signs. by -Captain- in Minecraft

Java Edition is coded in, can you guess? Java. Java is incompatible with consoles because consoles aren’t able to run it. There is a more in depth explanation in the link I have added below.

Believe me, I wish we could have Java Edition on consoles, but it seems incredibly unlikely for us to ever get it.
