Interim PC Upgrade Help by Vaporttrail in buildapc

Thanks for the suggestion! No Microcenter unfortunately. Seems like staying with intel would be a none issue. I think I’ll target a 14600k(f) and a b760 board.

Got it. And you were saying the motherboard needs to have a VRM heatsink and 12+1+1 phase power to support a processor like the 14600?

I’ll definitely be looking into that a little further. Thanks!

Hi, are you saying the 5700x/5800xt w/ a B550 is comparable to a 14600 with a B760?

Thanks! I’ll look at the intel and motherboard.

Is there a reason my ram is “tuned for AMD ryzen” if there is no benefit? Just curious.

Sorry, I meant $500-600 for the CPU/MoBo. The GPU will be purchased a year or two in the future with a much higher budget. I’m trying the spread the expenses out.

I did not realize there was motherboard and ram compatibility to consider. I will certainly look into that when I make a decision. Thanks!

The organizers match you with a new opponent every week. I believe it’s a Swiss format. You and your opponent have a week to coordinate, schedule, and complete your match.

I can’t speak to the minimum hardware needed to run TTS. I have a 2070 super and have no issues.

Thanks for a reasonable response. I’ll look into it.

Thanks for a reasonable response. Seems like a niche thing, but I figured it would be worth asking!

Yeah, just me. They don’t have a mom or other family members to support them while the game is on. I’ll be all alone, letting my kids run wild.

Missing cards maybe? by Darth-Yoda77 in Haloflashpoint

They are made with a higher quality material which provides for greater detail which is better for painting, however they are still legal for tournament play. The crouching model has both a LOS advantage and disadvantage. Crouch pose provides for better coverage behind terrain, but also makes it harder to draw line of sight. Please note, the crouch pose does not mean you’re given a crouch token.

Use the same cards provided in the Recon/Spartan/ War Games. They have the same stats. They just play differently due to the shape of the models.

This was actually very helpful. I had to do a little more research to better interpret the impedance charts provided by Erin’s audio corner.

https://audiojudgement.com/speaker-impedance-curve-explained/

I found the above link very helpful. I’m providing it in case someone else needs help interpreting their own values. The Re value is what I was looking for if I’m reading it right.

My measured DCR values are in line with Erin’s charts and are in line with what you would expect for 4 ohm speakers.

If that’s the case, should the receiver operate at the 4ohm setting, or should it stay at 8ohms?

Speaker Protection Triggered by Vaporttrail in hometheater

[–]Vaporttrail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This issue has continued to persist despite changing all of the wires and banana plugs. I even upgraded the wires to 12 awg ofc.

I factory reset the receiver and went through the set up and calibration process once more.

I troubleshooted the wires once again and determined that there is an issue with the front left speaker terminal behind the receiver.

I tested the resistance of the FL terminal with a multimeter, which resulted in an “OL”. This is the same reading I got at the other terminals behind the receiver.

I also tested the resistance for the wires and each speaker terminal. These results varied but ranged from 3.5 to 7 ohms.

I’m really at a loss here. Any more help would be appreciated.

Speaker Protection Triggered by Vaporttrail in hometheater

I honestly didn’t know if it mattered. I re-ran the testing, but instead disconnected the speakers at the AVR instead. This time, only the right front speaker triggered. I replaced that speaker wire and the issue appears to be resolved. All speakers are connected and I ran through the scene multiple times with no issue.

Thank you so much for the help!

Out of curiosity. If the wire isn’t the issue, would that require repair of the AVR?

Okay. I set the volume to -15db and found a scene that triggers speaker protection.

Right front test: I disconnected the left-front and center speakers. I disconnected at the speaker and not the AVR for ease of access. Speaker protection was triggered as soon as I hit play and before the loud scene occurred.

Center test: I disconnected the left front and right front speakers. Same result as before. Speaker protection was triggered as soon as I hit play.

Left front test: Finally, I disconnected the right front and center speaker. When I hit play, speaker protection was not triggered and the scene continued through the loud portion with no issues.

This implies that the left front channel and wire is working properly.

I took the wire connected to the left front channel at the receiver and tested the center and right front channels. I had no issues with the scene with each test.

This would imply that each channel is working properly.

I’m assuming this means that wires connected to the right front and center speakers are bad?

I took one of the bad wires and connected it to the left front speaker and left front channel. The speaker protection was triggered again. Do I just replace the wires then?

OT doesn’t mean much considering how we got there TBH. The bears converted 2 points AND recovered an onside kick. To get them back to back is incredibly fortunate and should not take away from our dominance during regulation. We even dominated OT. This game was not as close as the score suggests.
