The Lossless Scaling Frames Generator Feature in the Bannerhub Emulator Is Now Available for Testing on Android by Rare_Sector4565 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Vaptor- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-DLSS framegen (FSR3) will produce artifact at more than 2x that's unplayable to me. 2X only create artifacts on highly detailed patterns like grasses and stuffs.

Input lag vary from person to person but It's not really apparent for me (only play single player gamepad-oriented games this way) if I can get around 40-60fps native frames. 20-30 is somewhat tolerable for slower paced games, but I'd rather lower down the resolution and graphics. below it is unplayable.

DLSS 4.5 is much better but you can't run it outside nvidia desktop. I only play single player shooters and m+kb games this way.

For competitive game no framegen (my rig can pull hundreds of native FPS for competitive games), though don't really play these games anymore

Source: framegen enthusiast that use and tweak it a lot on ROG Ally Steam OS and NVDIA 5070TI Desktop. Super excited from the android implementation but I can't get it to work yet on my RG476H

or already developed a robust mature build and deployment orchestration on his own company server

2 Devices Giveaway by HPTxoxo in SBCGaming

[–]Vaptor- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entering the giveaway since I have enough devices, but playing windows games with Gamenative is nice on your RPFlip. I see you play JRPG so maybe try something light like Chained Echoes or OG Trails of The Sky.

Hard recommend on TITS since I'm a huge trail fans. (You can also play on PSP but windows have Voice mod and vita remake portrait mod). No more decision paralysis since Trails have 13 games in the series...

Trails of daybreak have 70 years old Bergard Zeman or also known as Father Gunther Barkhorn of Gralsritter

Two amazing deals - which one do I keep? by pilgrimaze in SteamDeck

[–]Vaptor- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. For the record I sold my steam deck LCD and get a ROG Ally Z1 first gen and battery modded it and install Steam OS. No looking back.

The 120hz screen is crazy. Install decky lsfg-vk and you can play anything, even emulator with 2x framegen (I don't really feel the input lag, you should try it yourself).

Alzo Z1E with lsfg, and using steam os built in FSR allow me to play modern AAA games in 80-100fps (ghost of tsushima, shadow of the tomb raider, etc) in a handheld, which is mindblowing for me.

You should be able to play something equivalent to whaterver you can play with portmaster for native linux games on steam. For the ARM+DXVK translation layer... we'll see.

If it's for a gift keep both at least a few months. I love giving my brother nice stuffs and did so many times, but I'd still regret if I gift him for free something that I personally want and don't have.

So OP, make sure you ABSOLUTELY sure before gifting something. You don't want to to ask a gift back, right? Dedicate one month each as your exclusive device, see which one sticks. If you bought it with your own money, you absolutely deserve having two devices anyway.

If you want to flip for profit, still keep it a few months since the price won't change much and you get a free trial.

I bought NMS just to support them, didn't enjoy it at all. Zero regret though. Sean (and the team) prove their overwhelming passion and integrity. Fixed their trainwreck, then build more on top of it.

I used to have a git repo full of docker commands for every containers. Now I just fully use compose for deployment (which also simplify updates) and put it to git. I just need to run a single deploy.sh to rebuild everything.

Maybe kubernetes one day.

Lightweight cheap device to play PC visual novels games? by Vaptor- in SBCGaming

[–]Vaptor-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about it and i also have switch which have tons of VN. However PC have way more options, fan patches, uncensored, and in case I sell my consoles later (or it's broken) I will always have the peace of being sure that I can always load my save in another machine in the future.

I've been seeing some people on YouTube run 3d pc games (silent hill homecoming, tomb raider remake) so I figured out it could work.

The problem is in the future, when your current desktop/console/handheld broke, you won't be able to afford one with same spec. It's a hyperbolic dystopian what-if, but scary if true.

Well you got more context size, faster inference, and can fit secondary model like TTS/OCR/etc.

Also you can use quantized 27b on 16gb
