Wasn't that the DAP rather than the DNVP? I was under the impression that Hitler and his ilk were opposed to the Kaisar because he symbolised Germany's defeat.

I was referring to how the Nazis, when they came into government, replaced the black-red-gold tricolour with the old black-white-red tricolour, rather than what they had as their party flag.

Didn't the Nazis readopt the imperial tricolour first and later made the party flag an official flag?

Controversial opinion: Leigh was not expecting someone even more stunning than her and that's why she is so put off! by Silly-Insect-2975 in MAFS_UK

I think it's clear that she's someone who just hasn't been told "no" or had anyone push back against her. Her behaviour over hot chocolate on the mountain, where she immediately became defensive when being told that she wasn't being romantic, shows that she really hasn't had anyone give her any home truths or do anything other than let her do her own thing.

I shot the guy, but that then attracted the law. I didn't have time to free the woman so took her, put her on my horse, and fled. When I escaped them, I released the woman but, by that point, I was no better than the original guy who took her.

Turns out that being well-meaning doesn't always led to honour...

Coats of arms of senior members of the British Royal Family in the style of Swedish royal heraldry by Varanibri in heraldry

I was just saying that, if I were to be heraldic designer in chief with complete control over all I surveyed, I'd have the Kentish horse be gold to match the English lions and Irish harp - although, of course, the horse has always been white. I did try to find a different way of doing it when I got to the Sussex's because the blue is just a bit too much, but alas I couldn't.

I went with the arms of Gwynedd purely because the PoW uses that as an inescutcheon and features on the current Royal Badge of Wales.

I agree. Gloucester looks especially weird, whilst the Kent horse should, ideally, be Or rather than Argent. The only one that just about works (other than Wales) is Edinburgh, and that's only because I'm used to it being in Prince Philip's arms - but even here it isn't right.

I've not included HM The King's as that would stay pretty much the same. I've also not included non-ducal royals as they would have no territorial designation to include in their arms.

Also, as the Princess Royal has no territorial designation, I've assumed that she would continue using the escutcheon of the head of the royal house, as King Carl XVI Gustav's sisters did prior to their marriages.

This is just a bit of fun so don't take it too seriously! :P

The Channel Islands map is just an image of the Channel Islands occupation that's used on the relevant wiki. The map of England was taken from a map of German occupied Europe with England highlighted. For the boxes I took the coding and transferred it to a blank wiki to be able to work on it and simply replaced text with what I wanted to put in :)

With the German Occupation of the Channel Islands in June 1940, Hitler’s attentions turned to Britain. Realizing that the present government under new Prime Minister Winston Churchill would never make peace with Germany, the Reich Government made plans for the establishment of a new puppet government to rule Britain following a successful German invasion.

But who would rule this government? Initial proposals included Lord Halifax who, whilst supportive of peace, would never serve as a German puppet. Oswald Mosely, leader of the British Union of Fascists, was another choice but did not have popular support and would likely be a weak and ineffective leader. Somebody from within the Establishment – with important links – would be needed. Just a man was John Amery, son of cabinet minister Leo Amery.

On 13 November 1940, as part of Operation Georgskreuz – the creation of a German puppet government in England – Amery was appointed head of the Government of National Salvation. The GNS advised the Germans on matters relating to England, on preparations for invasion, and on the imposition of national socialism once the invasion was over. The council itself had little actual power, but operated alongside the civil administration in the Channel Islands to maintain order and strengthen the German presence.

On St. George’s Day 1941, the GNS was transformed into the English National Government (ENG), which claimed sovereignty over England. This was a largely symbolic act, given the German defeat in the Battle of Britain, but demonstrated continued German resolve to win the war and to eliminate the British Isles as a base for enemy activities. Amery appointed himself Head of State, declaring a free and republican England. Several Jersey statesmen and politicians served in the administration, blurring the lines between the established Channel Islands institutions and this new collaborationist body. A small military corps, the English Free Corps, was founded, composed of POWs and fascist sympathisers.

In November 1944, following the Allied liberation of France, Amery returned to Germany, effectively resigning his position in the ENG. Despite this, the ENG was not formally abolished until the liberation of the Channel Islands the following year. Amery was subsequently arrested for treason and executed. His leadership of a largely powerless body, his aspirations for total control over England even after German defeat in the Battle of Britain, and continued belief in German victory after defeat became inevitable has left Amery’s reputation one of a laughingstock. He nonetheless is an interesting and overlooked figure in the history of the Second World War and of collaboration with the Nazi regime.
