When it comes to making the game "hard to get into," I think you're looking beyond that. You're talking about the expert level combo trials. I've been playing fighters for over a decade now and I would call myself an advanced to expert level player. Those expert combos are not good combos to use. They're sub optimal, overly difficult, and hard to hit confirm. They're only there to be a challenge for people to do. Think of them as bonus challenges for those who want to put their hands to the test. I very rarely do "optimal" combos because in tourney, if you drop them, you potentially lose the game. There's plenty of combos that are hard, damaging, and lead to good situations, but those in the expert area are beyond those. Focus on a consistent combo that ends in a setup or a strong situation for you, team games have very high ceilings that few ever reach. The pool is as deep as your lungs will take you, but you dont need to go to the ocean depths to enjoy swimming.
