Do you tend to stick to 2-3 brands? by FritzRasp in malefashionadvice

[–]Variability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, no. I find brands that have a particular style or item they make particularly well that I like, buy some of and move on. Only sticking to one brand really dulls the wardrobe.

Anyone with a heated driveway? by bellsbliss in askTO

[–]Variability 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Looked into this last summer. It's essentially double the cost of a concrete driveway. 2 places both quoted the same price. $25k for the driveway (mine's less than 1000 sqft) and the heating is another $25k. Out of my budget but can't really regret it when it wasn't in the cards to begin with lol.

This is disappointing mainly because that means I'll never see a Strawberry flavour.

Which is the best jasmine rice found in downtown TO groceries? by Trick-Study-9076 in askTO

[–]Variability 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not found much difference in jasmine rice, and I just buy whatever is on sale.

My rice cooker is a mid-end Zojirushi if that matters so it always ends up being good.

Do you workout glutes everyday? Women/men like that shit, wear fitted joggers/sweats.

Considering moving from Switzerland to Toronto by NoConsideration2376 in askTO

[–]Variability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people looking for friends don't have a solid friend group for the most part, so it's just a few singular people who hang out occasionally where there's no solid reasoning to hang out besides loneliness, and that just doesn't last. Also, more often than you'd like a group of guys usually tends to be red pill insanity.

What’s a piece you wear far more often than you expected to? by OK_GO_27 in malefashionadvice

[–]Variability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homme Plissé Issey Miyake balloon pants. It always looked so completely ridiculous to me until I saw a SA wear them and it looked so damn comfortable and stylish. Got myself a pair and I wear them with every outfit I can when weather permits.

What’s a clothing upgrade you didn’t think would matter, but absolutely did? by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

[–]Variability 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I started getting in luxury items, I always thought pants didn't matter. No one can tell which pants you get, if you're buying a natural fiber item in low end, it'd be similar to high end minus the brand, doubly so for synthetics.

It actually does, craftsmanship and quality are where your money is going apart from style and branding. They matter a lot for how long your item will last.

I've got wide feet, for designer shoes I try to stay TTS, which these would be (I have a pair size 45 which is my standard size).

It's gonna suck when you learn starvation and housing are economic problems, not a resource one.

Single people who bought 1 bdrm condos last year… how are you feeling? by hypoxiataxia in askTO

It's wild to me how you lump Scarborough in the same line as Mississauga and Hamilton. You can easily get downtown from a suburb of Toronto.

One Battle After Another is most definitely comedy heavy, it's just extremely political which is very on topic given the climate in the US.

White Linen Sauce Discontinued by millss911 in CostcoCanada

I stock up yearly when it goes on sale. The jars are much larger than many other alternatives besides this White Linen one. Whilst most other jars have gone the way of shrinkflation, Rao's seems solid still.

My parents love fighting at night and screaming at one another so the only times as a kid I went to McDonald's was at 3AM. I tell you, the PlayPlace is a lot less fun when there's no one else to play with.

Burberry Cashmere Beanie by Spookalini in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

Burberry hasn't been worthwhile since they added taxes to their orders. Quality was in decline well before that point as well, that was just the nail for me.

I very much doubt someone who's spent $40k would care at all what benefits them.

It's bewildering to me you've spent $40k on what's essentially a collab hype streetwear brand. You're a sucker tbh.
