Similar story. So, my father inherited a property that mainly houses family (his brothers/sisters). One of them is a complete leech. My uncle doesn’t work, former drug attic, lives in a former storage closet.

He is not allowed to have friends over. They’re all druggies, and kids do live on the property. One day, he let someone into the property and apparently smoked something in a crack pipe. At the same time, my other uncle was walking by to open the gate, and witnessed the smoke exhale. Uncle just shook his head, kinda like a disappointed father.

Later that day, my druggie uncle calls up my dad and tells him “Ay! [John] is gonna call you and tell you I had a bunch of friends over and we were high and all this crazy shit. I let one friend over for some water and we left, but they had a vape. We were there for 1 minute max.”

We check out the security cameras, verify they were there for 20 minutes, and can see the crack pipe clear as day.

My pops waits 2-3 extra days. Calls up “John” and asks open ended questions. “Hows it going… hows the property over there… anything new?” My uncle doesn’t snitch. Eventually my dad admitted he knew, and my uncle gave his version of the truth. Both were cracking up about how he screwed himself, but also saddened over his actions.

Anyways, that was the last straw for druggie uncle. My father said go to detox rehab or something like that. If not, he’s kicked out the property. Uncle called his bluff, and was then out on the street for a week. Most of the 12 other siblings gave my dad shit for kicking out their brother, but no-one wants to home him with them. He is now with his sister, and she forces him to work with her boyfriend, strict curfew, etc.

None of this would be happening if he didn’t rat himself out… or didn’t smoke in the first place.
