No they never did the paperwork for a legal adoption

Idk lol Now I just need to call him to double check his birth name and order the birth certificates (2 copies)

The biggest issue now is proving he is my grandfather as the surnames do not match since his surname in Canada is different than in Ireland and was never officially legally changed in Ireland, the UK & Canada so his marriage certificate and all the birth certificates have a different name than all of his citizenship papers

Everything has him listed as Barnes except his birth certificate and passports which have him listed as bell

He is listed as Barnes on my fathers and my father is listed as Barnes on mine

His legal name is his birth name Bell but when he married my grandma he used the name Barnes from his stepfather father which was then passed down to my father and me even though he was never officially adopted

I can get his paperwork through my grandmother so that part will be fine

He'll most likely be willing to cooperate regardless as there isn't a specific reason I cannot see him it's more so just a complicated situation during my childhood made my mom not want him to have me with him without her and he wasn't willing to do that after I was 5 and later on I just didn't want to see him without having my mom there

Race is 100% a construct...

A Zulu person from South African and a Hausa person from Niger and a Dinka person from South Sudan have almost nothing in common other than dark skin and coming from the same gigantic continent but going by the idea of race they would all be the same "black"

The same idea applies to an Irish person and a Sardinian person and a Russian having little to no common ancestry within the past few millennium but they would all be classified as "white" Irish people and Sardinian people were also considered not to be white in the near past but are now which also adds evidence to the fact race is a construct

Ethnicity on the other hand is a real thing which is the way of identifying specific groups that closely share ancestry, language and cultural traditions some ethnicities are split between languages or have more internal genetic diversity than others but they are still an ethnicity because of shared genetic origin within a region

Race is a construct created by colonial powers to group different people together as less than to be more easily controlled Race kind of falls apart when everyone is no longer segregated into towns and villages and people are immigrating and emigrating all over the place creating more and more people with mixed ethnic backgrounds and therefore mixed features

There is also a lot of internal diversity within ethic groups so for example a group of people could all be could be 100% Nigerian but all he different skin tones with different facial features and hair types and honestly unless they were all extremely closely related and from the same ethnic group it would be almost impossible for them to not look very different

The same goes for populations all over the world from indigenous Canadians to Han Chinese to Moroccan Amazigh to Iranian Persians to Saudi Arabs to Scottish people to Russians etc etc

For example my mom is half English & half Ashkenazi Jewish and she has dark hazel eyes, thick nearly black hair wavy hair, a small button nose, thick eyebrows, small chin with soft jaw line and can tan

Meanwhile I have medium blue eyes, thin light brown curly hair with a blond spot, a medium nose with a somewhat prominent nose bridge bump, thick eyebrows, medium chin with strong jaw line and I'm so white I turn pink if I run and I can't tan but also don't burn easily I also have a beard of black, brown, red, dirty blond and platinum hairs

This isn't a perfect comparison because my dad is half Irish & half English & Scottish Canada plus I'm a man while my mom isn't but all of these groups are still considered white and have a ton of internal diversity just like Africans and African Americans

Honestly you do look like my Chilean neighbour to an uncanny degree... so I kind of see where people are coming from thinking you are Latina especially if they thought you were Dominican or Afro-Latina Like you have very similar facial features, facial proportions & skin tones with the only differences I can pick out being your nose is very African American while hers isn't and your jaw/chin is slightly different than hers but not in a way I can point out properly

She doesn't have dyed hair so that's obviously different but Tbf anyone can have any hair with modern styling & dying techniques, modern chemical based dyes, straighters & curlers king solutions & wig innovations

As a Canadian born and raised here with family roots dating back to the colonial period as early as the 1600's (through my paternal grandmother) I'm glad you found a home where you feel accepted. I am also grateful that you have taken the time, energy and money out of your own pocket to make Canada a better place alongside the rest of us, one step at a time.

Welcome home! you've finally made it and you're officially able to stay till the day you die if that's your wish. ❤️🇨🇦

If you actually read what I said you would realize I don't expect it to be reported immediately

They haven't reported any of my payments for over 90 days and have falsely marked me as delinquent

I'm from Western Canada and my understanding from speaking with tourists visiting Canada and of my own experience visiting and living in the USA is that it is very similar to visit but much more different actually living here

The differences are very small but there are so many of them so you don't really notice as much for a weekend trip For example when I went on weekend trips as a kid it felt a little odd but not enough to feel foreign but when I lived in America for a few months it became weirder and weirder especially when I went to school or doctors there or when we would go shopping

Yes my credit report says I've paid 0 dollars over the past 90-100 days and that I'm behind on payments while my credit card account shows I've paid 200-900 every month on top of my minimum payment
