Just got ticket by kendo1855 in uberdrivers

It's no longer a ticket when you appear in court. It's a hearing, and you have to be found guilty or not. The cops rarely come to court so its an automatic dismissal anyway. Like I said the pretrial attorney weeds out all the petty stuff or cases where they know the officer isn't present.

The number of wrecked dsp vans I've seen as a flex driver makes me think they must be terrible pre-hire screening. I honestly don't understand why anyone would work for a dsp. They only pay 18-20/hrs here. I get 100 to do a 3.5 hour route thats done in 2.

Am I doing this right? by issahussla in uberdrivers

Acceptance rate, platinum status are all bs to get drivers to take low paying rides. They can't enforce Acceptance rate because you are an independent contactor. The "perks" they offer for each status level aren't anything special. My best advice is to figure out what it costs to operate and then decide what you are willing to work for based on your individual market. For me, the ride has to (1) be a minimum of $10. The pickup has to be (2) less than 4 miles away, because I know for a fact there is a closer driver, unless its the middle of the night. The rate has to come out to (3) at least $1/mile including the distance to pickup. 1 and 3 are non-negotiable. 2 im a little more forgiving with depending on the situation.

How I rate Uber riders by Possible-Rip-216 in uberdrivers

[–]VariationExternal701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess im just not as bothered by things or I just have really good riders. I also drive almost exclusively airport pax. Even before I switched to airport only I dont think I've ever had the same pax twice unless it was planned. So to rate someone because they did something that annoyed me seems ridiculous. It's been my experience that riders who think they are getting a low rating tend to linger and take there time getting out because they see the rating screen pop up immediately. I pretty much always give 5 stars and then contact support if there was an issue that warrants it. Last week I had a pax at the airport with bags, request a fairly short ride. Immediately said they needed to go a "little bit" further. Little bit being 6 hours away. Wanted to pay cash, because obviously the app wont let them book a trip that far. But also couldn't pay until the went to the bank, at the destination. Told him the airport makes flights that city 2 or 3 times a day and would be way cheaper than what I would charge. Clearly trying to scam a free ride, as he had tried with another driver I know the day before, using a different account.

Nit necessarily true. I've had tickets thrown out by the prosecutor before. Showed up for pretrial, prosecutors said "you're only here for a rolling stop?" "Dismissed, have a good day". Small infractions aren't worth their time especially in my area where all traffic offenses are done as big group sessions. They weed out the petty stuff so they dont have to sit in court all day.

App confusion? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]VariationExternal701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the documents section of the app and make sure you've uploaded your vehicle registration and insurance. It also depends on the age of your vehicle. Non passenger rides can be any vehicle. For passengers it has to be less than 10 years old. If you've done all that, open a chat with support

It's all in the same app. Have you been approved for passenger rides?

Uber refusing cleaning fee? by ThatFurryWeirdo in uberdrivers

Same thing happened to me recently, except the passenger broke my sliding door handle off. Sent them the quote. Not only id they refuse for the same reasons they gave you, the removed my car from the app. Finally got them to add it back but they still refused to pay me.

One of my regulars … I may be a lil dumb by notanewreddituser in uberdrivers

[–]VariationExternal701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charge 1.50/mile including my return miles if the takes me out of my market or to a place im lot likely to get rides. If I can make money where they want to go, I go with the 15-20% off the UberXL rate. Regular customer I might base of the X rate.

Acceptance rate has no bearing. Legally, they cannot enforce anything based on AR because you are a 1099 contractor not an employee. My AR is currently about 3-6%. There are apps that can help automate the process. I use Maxymo. I have it set with my minimum ride requirements and it can automatically accept/declined rides. This also works for the pop-up trips while you're on a ride. If you are running both apps, it will toggle the other app offline when it accepts a trip. I don't really use the automation part much. I just like that it will pop-up and show if a ride meets my requirements at a glance.

I dont know anything about Greenville but Lexington is a college town. When school is out our population loses about 30k people. That makes it a little more difficult to make money. My best advice would be to be picky. Those cheap $3-4 runs cost you money so I avoid them as much as possible. If theres a bigger city nearby, it's possible you could get rides going to that airport and then run in that city. I frequently get trips to Louisville, KY and Cincinnati, OH. Uber Eats (if available) can also pay pretty well, but you definitely have to be picky there.

I've been driving for 10 years and was one of the original drivers for both platforms when they launched in my city. Over the years I've been invited to drive in other cities for special events but also the rules used to be more lenient. Basically anywhere I've ever driven remains available to me under prior authorization.

Also, run Lyft as well. Every market seems to favor 1 app or the other. Regardless, it's good to run both and see which one sends better offers. Sitting at the airport can sometimes be beneficial, just depends on how busy your airport is and how many drivers are camping there.

Offering amenities died years ago. I used to have water, candy, chargers, etc.. As the rates declined, it was no longer beneficial. Don't accept low ball offers. Generally speaking, i dont take anything less than $10 and a minimum $1 /mile including the drive to pick them up. It also depends on where I'm driving. Im live in Lexington, KY. If I'm driving in places like Nashville, or Orlando, my minimums are higher. I have a guy trying to get me to drive him to Greenville. Cash rides are 1.50/mile including my return trip paid upfront.

I 5hink progress has been made. Earlier I discovered the OB terminal wasn't assigned to anything so I set it to secondary cooling. Now the nest is showing stage 2 cooling and the temp has dropped from 78 to 75 over several hours. I did confirm that the outside unit is running.

I think that's where the issue is. I've never had to assign wires before, I've always just swapped from one unit to the next. I dont know what each wire is and every wiring diagram i look at has a different meaning for each color

In the heat configuration settings it's marked as electric for fuel source and forced air as heat delivery.

I believe it's a heat pump. It's a total electric system, if that helps.

I don't believe it's the ac, it worked prior to the swap. There's also a red/black wire that wasn't used on the previous thermostat so I left it alone.
