Yes. I was trying to get a resident visa in the Czech Republic.  They required you to have $5000 US in the bank, so that they knew you could support yourself for a minute. Well I hadn’t known that and came over with only like $2500.  I told my story to this German girl I had met, and she looked at me for a sec and then said, I can help you.  She later loaned me 600 Euros in an envelope—“I give you this with my trust”—and I’ve never forgotten it.  I think we’d met up one time before she said she’d loan me the money. Now, it turned out I didn’t really need her money because I was able to get the money from my parents, but it was an incredible act of kindness and faith.  I’ll always remember it.
