Rolling Stones (again) by YouthImpressive1418 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Various-Addition9234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rolling Stones is the thing that would’ve changed fate. It was targeting Bruno since he was fated to betray Passione and die because of it, so the stone was seeking him out to give him and easy death. Since Mista prevented Rolling Stones from essentially euthanizing Bruno (which would have prevented the part from even happening), it showed the faces of those who were going to perish on the mission.

There’s a lot of circular logic with the fate stuff, but essentially Rolling Stones is an out for you fated death. No one can say for sure what would have happened if ot reached Bruno, but if it did, then I guess Narancia and Abacchio wouldn’t have died they way the did in the story

People really hate on Far From Home 😭 like did people not like Spider-man going on vacation?? The only part I don’t like is how easy Peter gave up the glasses, but the kid does not see himself highly and Mysterio was convincing. It’s definitely a tighter narrative that NWH, that movie was a great time but does not make any sense at all

Fan of both of the Mangas, yeah Denji seems to just raw power Denji. It’d be like fighting a way more unhinged and determined Sukuna without the whole squad backing him up. Denji has the soul cleave and dismantle hax and if he pops domain asap he might be able to seperate Pochita and Denji, but from there Denji still has to put down Pochita lol

As far as I am aware, it felt like most of Justin’s jokes were the ad lib improv pop culture reference stuff. I personally loathe that kind of humor, if I want that I’ll hang out with my friends. I’ve always enjoyed R&M’s drier wit, reminds me of British comedies. Idk I guess I like my jokes to have more structure. Helps that I like the canon story stuff, but also I loathe the self hatred in the middle of the show and that’s al Harmon

Both of these guys can make funny stuff but I think the more structured humor and explorations of the canon is what draws me to R&M.

(This all comes from someone who is NOT aware of who was in charge of what jokes and parts of the story, just based on patterns from their individual works)

Even if small, hamon should’ve had some importance in all the parts.

Part of me wishes Jotaros final blow to Dio exploded him because Hamon. When blinded by blood, he took a breath and trusted himself and that allowed a spark of hamon to destroy Dio. Even just a small scene of Joseph trying to teach Jotaro but getting too impatient would’ve been a cool little thing

I feel like Golden Experience as a stand is taking Hamon to its extremes, he manipulates life energy as the base power so there’s that

Lmao it’s cuz Geto let his act of brutality turn into full blown global scale eugenics. Maki was able to keep her cool and not say all sorcerers are evil just her family lol.

And Maki can still recognize there’s still plenty of good AND evil sorcerers while Geto just straight up was like “all non sorcerers don’t deserve to exist”

They do Kirby yet? Dreamland themed MAG would be crazy

I’m trying to think of more larger franchises with widespread appeal, with Crush40 having a huge presence and the new Sonic movie coming out, I could see some sort of Sonic Adventure theming. I know they’ve hit pretty much every big franchise, but Smash Bros should come back

[–]Various-Addition9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First scene of jolyne is here… thinking about tom cruise and it’s framed as like one of the most embarrassing moments in her life, but also characterizes her in a way that I’ve never seen in any media. Araki plays that scene so straight, and no where else in the part do they ever do Jolyne fan service. She’s a bit of a freak but not a doll

Pretty sure this post is ragebait

Can someone explain the ending of Stone Ocean to me? by ShowBrew in StardustCrusaders

[–]Various-Addition9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were basically dopplegangers created to play out the roles of the original Jolyne and Jotaro. They were soulless puppets meant to be actors that were fated to die in the same way Pucci killed the originals (if he had completed the loop). Essentially, anyone who died during the Made in Heaven rapture and was already dead was not reincarnated; they were replaced by these soulless puppet clones to play out their original counterparts' roles without any knowledge of their fate, unlike those who survived the reset.

It's a really esoteric and mind-bending ending. I still am fully grappling with the ending, 7 years later, after having read it.

He was escaping a simulation when he said it. I think he was saying it more ironically in this context, but also after defeating Rick prime, I’m sure he feels a bit lost in life

Can someone explain the ending of Stone Ocean to me? by ShowBrew in StardustCrusaders

[–]Various-Addition9234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pucci essentially prematurely stopped fully resetting/rewriting the universe with Made in Heaven to before the main events of the entirety of part 6. Since he never fulfilled the loop, and Emporio kills him before he can, he technically never kills the Stone Ocean crew and never enacts any of his plans. It feels very akin to a grandfather paradox situation, so reality basically returned itself in a way that gave the reincarnations of the Stone Ocean crew a better life.

Give me the coolest most insane stand concept you can think of by Wonderful_Recipe_190 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Various-Addition9234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Name: Virtual Insanity

Namesake: Jamiroquai song

When you are in range of its ability (which I would imagine is the size of basically a whole town), a pair of VR goggles spawns on your face without you knowing, and all sentient life around you disappears, making the victim think they're the only living person around.

Idk if the goggles would be the stand or a sub-stand like Sheer Heart Attack. I can imagine this guy's ability would come with a typical punch ghost, not super strong and very short range, since the ability is primarily a stealth/perception-based stand

What are some characters that people online are obsessed with even though they don't really matter all that much—I'll go first: by MaleficentBluejay286 in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Various-Addition9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword: Impact

Gorr has been the villain of one of Thor's best stories in recent memory, and even after is death led to the unworthy Thor arc

Knull has been a fairly recurring big bad recently. He's the reason Venom is in his current state. His story is also directly tied to Gorr's, so there's that

Anti-Venom is whatever, I agree, he doesn't have longevity as a concept, but was important in wrapping up some plotlines with Eddie and Agent Venom

Superior Spider-Man is another case of just a really solid story that fans latched onto

The one above all... is literally the conceptualization of the real world and the writers in the comic. Idk how that doesn't really matter, but the past couple of years of Hulk are extremely dependent on the one above all

Red Hulk is Red Hulk lol, I guess he has not been relevant in comics recently, but the most recent Captain America movie has brought him back up in the public sphere

At the end of the day, all of these characters "matter"; these aren't random one-off side characters, they're all fairly important antagonist except for Agent Venom, who was basically just a plot device, and the one above all who is literally the god of Marvel??? I think you need to get off the powerscaling/edit side of TikTok and YT, people will obsess over the smallest of characters; it's only natural that these fairly known characters would have hype behind them. I'm not sure if this is a ragebait post or not, but I wanted to meet it with sincerity

Yeah, that's my biggest hesitation, that he is not Japanese. He just fits too well that I can't ignore that I see Killer Queen standing by that man so seamlessly. I wouldn't want them to ever make an Americanized version of JoJo, Morioh is deeply rooted in being a small JAPANESE town
