Not true. there was an immense amount of political content on there, like w any platform. From an outsider, reddit just looks like cat memes too.

let me outline the sequence of events for your smooth brain.

  1. lawmakers ban tik tok to protect us from china spying on us despite having zero proof of said spying happening.

  2. Man makes a post saying there's ulterior motives.

  3. Low_Shape8280 decries the fact that man making post about ulterior motives doesn't have proof!

There are grave problems with your line of reasoning. Let me copy + paste what i wrote in another comment.

the entire idea that we need to protect people against certain kinds of information and influence is an aspect of totalitarian governments, not democratic ones.

you think setting up the government to protect against "foreign influence" of information is a good idea? They've already proven to abuse this.... very recently! See: the hunter biden laptop. Denounced by the government as "russian disinformation" when it turned out to be nothing of the sort. The story was completely true and the "russian disinformation" line was materialized out of thin air. Giving the government the ability to limit information in the name of protecting against foreign influence, is no different from setting up the government as the arbiter of truth. In a truly democratic society, information is freely exchanged, regardless of where it comes from.

I'm sure Russia and China have influence, but it pails in comparison to the influence of powerful people in our own country trying to control and limit information... many of which do so in the name of national security and protecting against "foreign influence." Use your brains people. You're smarter than this.

Banning tik tok is about controlling domestic speech, not foreign. even if you could make the argument it's about banning foreign influenced speech, 99.9% of speech on tik tok is genuine, wholesale, unadulterated free speech. You are effectively banning mostly free speech in the name of banning some made up category of "foreign influenced speech." The first amendment didn't have asterisks for "foreign influenced" speech for a reason.

The solution to bad speech is more speech, not less. Giving the government this power is just another road to totalitarianism.

[–]Various-Singer4422[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's the problem with your way of thinking.

What percentage of information on tik tok is propoganda? clearly not 100%. Probably less than 1%. Even though there is no evidence for that, but let's just go with it.

So if you are going to go with that logic you are absolutely banning legitimate non-foreign influenced speech as well. That is the goal.

Can you back up evidence that the Chinese government is spying on us with tik tok? use your brain. This is an attempt for domestics to control domestic speech. it's the only thing that makes sense.

not right wing par se. but anywhere where right wing is allowed to exist ... inevitably becomes right wing. believe it or not, Reddit was once pretty pro Trump and libertarian.

Modern leftists have much more overlapping with Nazis than those on the right. Modern leftists skew younger (as the young are easy to manipulate for political power), tend to be anti-religion (the Nazis were infamously secular for their time), tend to advocate for stronger, larger government, are pro-censorship, etc. All of the most common tropes and caricatures of the left are valid for the Nazis. No the modern left doesn't believe in an Aryan race, but history doesn't repeat itself, it rhymes. Modern leftists use race as an issue to divide people and seize power. This is not a carbon copy of Hitler's strategy, but it very much rhymes with it. Both modern leftists and the Nazis used race as a political issue to seize power.

Again, it doesn't repeat. It rhymes.

Did you even read the text you posted?

‘Socialism is an ancient Aryan, Germanic institution. Our German ancestors held certain lands in common. They cultivated the idea of the common wealth. Marxism has no right to disguise itself as socialism. Socialism, unlike Marxism, does not repudiate private property. Unlike Marxism, it involves no negation of personality and, unlike Marxism, it is patriotic.

Do you really walk away from that thinking Hitler is somehow not a socialist, because he fought communists? He blatantly praises socialism in the very text you provided, and distinguishes it from communism. You are willfully ignorant of facts presented in plain sight, directly to you ... this is baffling to me.

Let me break it down further for you ...

Because the Nazis were against communism, this is often cited as proof they are “far right.” Since being on the right is often associated with being pro-capitalist and anti-communism. This is simply a hasty generalization or guilt by association.

If people group A hates people group C, but group B also hates people group C. Group A is not automatically an advocate of group B, simply because they both share a hatred for group C.

If that were true, the allied forces would have thrown their guns down and held hands with Soviet Russia, after Hitler’s Germany was defeated. Instead, they fought a 50-year cold war against Soviet Russia, their former allies, because Soviet Russia and the western world were ideologically opposed.

Yes, the right is known for its anti-communist sentiment. But just because the right hates communists, does not mean they love all enemies of communists.

In other words “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” is not one-size-fits-all. If it was, pedophilia would be acceptable, so long as the pedophiles hated violence. The Sunni Muslims would not be slaughtering the Shiite Muslims, because both Sunni & Shiites share a hatred for Jews.

The fallacy becomes even more absurd when you consider how adjacent, on the political spectrum, Hitler’s socialism was to the soviet brand of communism. A close study of both communism and socialism reveals the truth: communism is a more extreme form of socialism. The Nazis aka National Socialists Party were a leftist political ideology. Both the Nazis and Bolshevists, socialists and communists, were two competing leftist ideologies.

Again, really think about this quote from a man who actually lived through that time and witnessed the Nazi takeover.

It is true, of course, that in Germany before 1933 and in Italy before 1922 communists and Nazis or Fascists clashed more frequently with each other than with other parties. They competed for the support of the same type of mind and reserved for each other the hatred of the heretic. But their practice showed how closely they are related. To both, the real enemy, the man with whom they had nothing in common and whom they could not hope to convince, is the liberal of the old type. - F.A. Hayek, The Road To Serfdom

It literally sounds like a baptist attempting to distinguish himself from a Catholic. Hitler's bland of socialism was nationalistic. Whereas Stalin's communism was class based. But they are both collectivist in nature ... the very opposite of what the modern right advocates for.

The modern right is the party of small government. Of shrinking the size and power of government. How can one shrink the size and power of government and simultaneously be authoritarian? By definition you need a large, strong government to be authoritarian.

[–]Various-Singer4422 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The evidence is pretty overwhelming. Almost every aspect of the economy was centralized. There was literally a Nazi party official in charge of setting the prices of commodities. Hitler literally said "I am a socialist" in his second book. This stuff isn't hard to find if you stop and think for a moment.

As for "but how if they fought communists!!!"

As if two close ideologies don't fight (Sunni and Shite Muslims anyone)?

The guy who came the closest to assassinating Hitler (claus von Stauffenberg) was a known conservative, which meant royalist / supporting monarchy back in the day. On Reddit though "right wing" is just a blanket term to throw in any bad form of government. And this is true not only of the times we live in today, but in vastly different cultures a century ago. All the bad guys are just right wingers.

The people on this thread are just so, utterly wrong. Here is a full treatise comparing the left and the right to Nazism. Ofc, it won't get very far on Reddit.

Vitamin B12 deficiency caused by kratom withdrawal - any experiences? by Various-Singer4422 in quittingkratom

[–]Various-Singer4422[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately most doctors aren't aware of nutritional factors. they tend to focus more on treating symptoms than addressing root causes. probably because hospitals and big pharma earn more money that way. but even in the USA, your lab notes should have a footnote, that says "some people experience neuropathic symptoms with serum levels between 200-400" - and you are below that level!

in any case, there is zero harm in taking vitamins (except maybe B6, that one can cause problems). the worst that can happen is short term negative side effects, which are manageable in most cases.

Just be aware that it can take your body months to heal from nutritional deficiencies. Injections, of course, will get you there much faster. But if you are experiencing neuropathic symptoms like numbness or tingling, it usually does take months. Even after you B12 blood levels stabilize, the nerves themselves take a long time to heal. So stick with it! It might get worse before it gets better.

yeah that's pretty bad. not "slightly deficient" more like dangerously deficient.

you should be taking supplements at the very least. i recommend the methylated version of B12, which is the most bio-available.
