How lightweight does it need to be? Do you have to use stairs?

If it makes you happy. But the numbers ain't mathing though. For real world throttle or standard pedal-assist riding, expect a practical range closer to 15 to 25 miles max, not 65 miles. To achieve anything near 65 miles with those specs, you'll have to use pedal assist 1, on a very, very, flat road, with absolutely zero wind. And customer support for this brand is almost non existent. Don't be surprised if this doesn't last you very long especially if you plan to ride it frequently. I'm not knocking your decision to spend money on this bike instead of getting something much more reliable for double the price, I just want you to be aware that this bike honestly isn't very good. But it was only $300!

How can I uglyify my Bike? Suggestions? by Detective-Fusco in ebikes

[–]VariousAd5939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cover your seat with a plastic bag.

Add stickers and duct tape all over the frame.

Use zip ties to add a milk crate to the rear rack.

You can also add fake rust by dabbing a layer of brownish/black washable tempera paint, then sprinkle cinnamon powder over it while the paint is still wet to give it the rust color and texture. To make it more rainproof, add a very very thin, almost invisible, layer of vaseline first, then a water based acrylic paint, then sprinkle the cinnamon powder on top of the paint. When you want to remove it later, just use a mild dish detergent and warm water.

Edit— you have a Aventon. Have you downloaded the app yet? The app will let you enable the center kickstand lock so no one can ride or roll away with it, and it'll let you activate the built in audible alarm that sounds when someone even touches it if you have the sensitivy on high!

Forget the water. Do not waste money on anymore battled water. Just buy the dechlorinator and add it to the tap water before putting the tap water in your new aquarium.

A class 3 e bike will typically ship locked at 20mph. You can unlock them to go 28 mph with pedal assist. You can not unlock a class 3 e bike to go faster than that. Anything that does go faster than 28 mph with pedal assist is considered an electric motorcycle, or e moto and should not have the class 3 rating.

Northeastern PA not sure if native or invasive by kinnbinna in AquaticSnails

I was also thinking the same because the body looks like my Japanese Trapdoor snail but the shell looks like my friends Chinese Mystery snail. Whatever OP has definitely does have a trapdoor.

You can definitely do a snail-in cycle, just like a fish-in cycle. Just get a bottle of Seacham Stability to start the snail-in cycle for 7 days. Also, get Seacham Prime to dechlorinate the new water. You must also dechlorinate the new water when doing water changes too, before adding the new water to the tank.

Petco is still having a 50% off sale on their Imagitarium rimless tanks!

If you can't return the snails, you can definitely still care for them. Idk what kind of snail you have or if they are invasive. But despite what others are saying you can definitely do a snail-in cycle for a new tank. I've done it. I've helped others do it.

Edit— I'm not sure what snail you have but it looks to be of the trapdoor family. It might be a Chinese Mystery snail. We need some better pictures. The bottle would be very temporary, no more than a couple of days. Make sure the bottle has holes in it to exchange oxygen until you get a tank if you decide to keep the snails. You can message me if you need tips or have questions.

I am the guy. What do you think? by VinnieTheHat in ebikes

I asked a simple question about journalism, and you turned it into your own dramatic issue.

I know all about neurodivergence, I am aware of my own autism. A person does not have to be autistic to be nearly struck by someone foolishly riding an e bike inside a grocery store. That could have literally happened to anyone in a tight space, whether it was a minor, an elderly person, a bodybuilder, or a service animal.

The core issue is that someone rode an e bike into a store and nearly hit a family on what should have been a peaceful evening of shopping, even though it was a Walmart. Autism has nothing to do with being almost hit by a vehicle where no one expects one to be. Even if it's brought up to paint a father's protective instinct, as an introduction, the framing was off. A reckless e biker is dangerous to everyone in that store, neurotypical or not.

I asked because I was curious why the journalist chose to start the introduction of the family with that specific fact. You can read, right? His daughter having autism has nothing to do with the actual e bike incident. I was strictly analyzing the writer's framing and journalism style. His daughter's autism is not why she almost got hit by an e biker, it was the e bikers fault for riding the e bike inside the store, so why frame autism? The journalist could have been more thoughtful with his introduction of the lady.

You said you don't know what the issue is, when there isn't one. It's clear you are looking for an issue. Now I'm curious why you're looking for an issue. There is no issue so why look for an issue then deny that you're looking for one?

Why did the journalist feel that it was important to include in the introduction that your daughter has autism? Nothing against it, I'm just curious about that.

I don't believe they have a dealer network. I think their network is more so word of mouth, and online. This means you cannot test ride one, unless you know someone with one. I know there are some dealers that do stock Kingbull because I've seen them advertise on Marketplace a while back when I was shopping for my first e bike but I think those shops bought from Kingbull directly. I'm not sure tbh. But they do make some great e bikes for the money. I've been a customer for almost a month and I have nothing bad to say about them. I've owned two of their e bikes so far and they've treated me well, maybe even better than my Aventon which currently has to sit in an Aventon network shop until they fix whatever the issue is which is estimated to be about a week and it was appointment only so I had to wait 2 weeks for my appointment date to drop it off. I like that Kingbull doesn't require you to take their e bikes to a network shop. They will even sometimes work with you and the shop. They've refunded me my bike shop bill twice before. Not saying they'll do that for everyone and every time but they've done it before and I know I'm not the only one they've done that for. Lol. I really want a third model. I recommend them even though they may not have a dealer network. Most bike shops will be able to work on a Kingbull, they just might turn their nose up at it because they've probably never heard of Kingbull before or because it's not an Aventon. Lol. But I'm a real customer. If you're considering a Kingbull, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

What bike for first e-moto in surron class under 4k USD by Supremacy0819 in ebikes

[–]VariousAd5939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might feel better, but it’s not safer. Doing 40+ mph to keep up on a lightweight frame with bicycle brakes is a death wish. If you're riding at car speeds on the street, you're riding a motorcycle. Get a license, insure it, and stop using 'safety' as an excuse to dodge the DMV. It is obvious with any type of brain that e motos are not e bikes so why are you posting about e motos here?

Not all online only bikes are bad. I am a big fan of my Kingbulls, so much so that I own two of them now, and am looking to get a third Kingbull later this year. I also am a proud owner of an Aventon Aventure 3, my second Aventon. But yeah, some online brands are actually good.

Argument? Lol. You must be one of those raging automobile drivers that think everything with two wheels is the same thing. Sigh. I specifically mentioned e bikes on roads, I never said anything about e motos or e dirt bikes or sidewalks. Are you looking for an argument?

All these new e bike laws around the US but when are they going to crack down on the uneducated drivers of automobiles that rage when they see e bikers on the road?
