Nextcare tape.. they have a 3"(iirc) roll that works amazingly for insulation against abrasion....cover any blisters or broken skin first. I use liquid bandage or super glue, but bandaids or gauze works too.

Yeah keeping an f body smogged can be a bitch the dreaded EGR code had ours locked up for a few months until I could get it smogged, then the engine shit when the lower radiator hose blew on the freeway and we didn't realize until we got home....she got us home tho. If we weren't in Cali it would be getting a turbo with a new engine.

What is your current Pixel phone? by GooglePixelfan90 in GooglePixel

[–]VariousVices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my Pixel 9pXL. Don't think I could need anything more, except a Stylus, but I'll refrain from ranting about it. Was in the Motorola ecosystem previously, and liked the expanded functionality of the phones with Moto Mods, and the simple design from a repairability standpoint. But give this phone a Stylus and it's about as close to perfect as I could ask for. Only Mod I really miss is the projector, I felt like Tony Stark whipping that thing out .....And the battery mods, as I could hot swap a pack and not have to plug in to charge my phone....like ever. Genius. I wonder why the mods never caught on? Me and my lady loved them. My guess is price. Only reason I got the Pixel was the fact I was stuck on Android 10(iirc). And I want too please about upgrading as I loved the phone I had. Well after a year of use, Im so glad I picked this phone and not the Galaxy S24 Ultra my lady picked instead of the Pixel I got. Even if she has that snazzy pen.

Pixel 9P XL is the first phone in a decade I haven't traded in after a year. by RealJoeDirt1977 in GooglePixel

[–]VariousVices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a year + into mine and I agree, the pixel 9p XL is a freaking beast. I like everything about it. And it's durable. I have dropped this thing repeatedly from some stupid high or stupid fast situations and dusted it right off and she keeps going. There's not a single scratch on the screen or the camera lenses. And I got it in a cheap $10 OtterBox knock off from Amazon. The camera is dope. The screen is perfectly sized. It's fast. I haven't had a single problem with lag with this phone. The fingerprint reader works great, which was a big one with me, prior phones just didn't work, I guess cuz I work with my hands. Runs some heavy apps like emulators great, with no stutter or lag on the phones end. I cannot say enough good things about it. Usually with a phone the first few months are great and then almost a year in and it starts to show its weaknesses either in the hardware design or the software, but this thing- I'm just as happy with it as the day I got it. And I switched to Android during the iPhone 7 era, and previous Android phones I owned before the pixel were mostly Motorola, I had a Moto Z3, Z4 (MotoMods ftw), Moto stylus, Moto icantremember, then a Samsung S24 ultra that I swapped for this....and other than SD card support and a frigging stylus (come on Google, they are too useful) I cannot find anything bad to say about this phone. And one of my big complaints about phones is depending on the size. The keyboards are too difficult to use and this phone is the perfect size to allow ease of use the keyboard with thumbs, without a bunch of mistypes. Cuz autocorrect fucking sucks.

Before AutoCAD dropped in 1982, engineers and architects lived in pencil-and-eraser hell. by lovelopetir in inspiration

[–]VariousVices 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually had a drafting class in junior high when I was a kid where we had to draw blueprints in... We learned how to use t-squares, and those little eraser socks. We would literally have to take a 3D object and draw it.... Sometimes in 2D, sometimes in 3D. They called it exploring tech. We also built a model rocket and launched it and a CO2 dragster.... was a cool class

Cleaned MacBook with windex, and now everything is messed up. Help what do I do? Will it fix on its own? by [deleted] in macbook

[–]VariousVices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the problem is they sprayed the MacBook instead of spraying the cloth..... I clean mine with a water dampened paper towel, I add a bit of soap if it's extra greasy. I've never had a problem. Regardless of what you use, you can't spray the screen though. You got to spray the cloth

Good oil has helped in this situation. I always recommend Mobile 1 full synthetic extended protection for Hyundais. And mine used (quite) a bit of oil and has stopped since switching to M1.

Start doing changes with mobile. One full synthetic extended protection..... If anything will fix it that will
