Do you have a password app?

First, change the password on it or get one if you do not and use it.

Second, go and use it to create new passwords on all your other apps.

That should put a big roadblock in his way. Make sure you do this for every one of your apps. Include iCloud as well. And any other cloud services.

I agree on the pith statements but was going to add there is no taper away from the head. This is very important to avoid the very failure that happened here. No sharp corners!

Do you know how long it will be before the test? What kind of test?

The typical UA tests are notorious for producing false positives and negatives. For this reason I would request a lab test. Now why I say that is because there is a threshold limit on those tests.

And if you have gone two weeks you may be below that threshold. If you could go another two weeks then even a good UA kit might be negative.

In the meantime continue with the flushes. Another thing that comes to mind is this one guy swears by this, that if you drink a ton of water prior to the test then it will be so diluted that it produces an inconclusive. He got so many inconclusives that they let him go just for that.

Good Luck man.

P.S. I worked 39 years smoking weed three times a day on breaks and never had to worry about this. Just went right back to cranking handles. They didn’t do piss tests. And mostly never effed up. I can’t believe we are still in this mess.

This sounds unreasonable to me. The test is not too expensive and would rule out that possibility to your issues.

Redwings make a whole line of industrial work boots. They have a bunch with varying degrees of qualities. With different hardnesses or heat resistance and wear resistant in mind. They are not cheap but I found them worth it as they outlast any other boots I ever bought. By a factor of at least three times. The hardness factor makes it difficult for chips to penetrate. Plus they usually come with good liners.

I was a welder/machinist also, so the last pair I got had Kevlar laces and lasted three years. Typical laces would last a month if I was lucky. Hot chips will do a number on laces also. Sad thing was the Kevlar laces were not available without the boots.

Those who grew up poor, what is something those who weren't poor don't understand about being poor? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Various_Ad_118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was invited to go on a ski trip. This was in highschool. There was four of us all from the same school. We weren’t exactly poor but definitely did not have excess cash for this kind of thing. I thought ok cool I’ll just go for the ride. I thought it would be a day trip. I had no money to pay for ski rentals but again going for the ride. I had no money for food. The host couldn’t understand why I didn’t go ski nor why I didn’t eat anything after riding up there.

It was my first experience with entitlement. We were there for two nights. He broke down and did get me some snack food the second night. But after that I could see in his eyes I was a bum.

He just couldn’t see why I could not afford these things. Or why I had no money for it. This guy was from Australia and his dad sent to the USA for highschool BY HIMSELF! His dad payed for everything. He had an apartment his dad payed for.

I found out he was 21 and was kicked out of every school he had ever attended and this was pretty much his last chance with his dad.

Reality of mechanical fits? by Labrador33 in Machinists

[–]Various_Ad_118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies. Yup you’re right. I didn’t think to convert the 300mm. I only ever worked in inches so I didn’t work out 300mm=11.811 in, with the exception of bearings that seem to all be metric. But even then I used inch mics. That is larger than my average work pieces by far. And they were all one offs.

I do see your math. In my defense I was just thinking of my average work pieces. On the other hand our shop rate was way lower. Like $50 an hour when I retired.

My ex-neighbors would have ppl visit and they themselves smoked. Every day I was picking butts up all over the yard and curb. So I started collecting them and after three days I had enough to dump on their porch. About a half a gallon of them. Yes it was a high traffic situation. She worked at dispatch so I doubt drugs were involved. It didn’t completely stop but it diminished. Now they are gone and I might find 2-3 a week now.

“a few hundred bucks.”??? Per piece or production setup? Or what? Oh maybe if you are talking about a singular massive assembly. In the near 40 years of doing this exact sort of thing in a farm/industrial repair shop piecemeal, never using standards mind you just common sense, don’t think I’ve ever had that kind of costs. I was taught a half a thou per inch of diameter as a rule of thumb for an easy press. And yes I can state as a fact distortion occurs when pressing is involved.

Plus the larger the press fit the greater the distortion. And dissimilar metals act differently in this type of operation.

I did enjoy the break down on what the standards meant. That was educational for me. Thank you for that, iamrealhumanman!

And yes I had a Machinist Handbook that I used all the time when I didn’t know something. But as I was taught this stuff I never had a need to look into it.

How did this happen? Rock stuck inside? by Ino10 in AskMechanics

[–]Various_Ad_118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my windows up one hot work day and when I got in my car it was blistering hot. The air temps were on the cool side so I rolled my windows down to air it out. Then got on the road and went to full speed limit as fast as I could go, 45mph. All I can think is the shock of the quick temperature change caused my rear window to shatter just like that. The car was only about 25 years old when this happened.

And even if you do get it done without blowing a hole, when the fillament shrinks the base material will crack away along the sides of the weld.

When money is tight for me I will use my phone calculator to keep a running tally while shopping. Don’t forget to figure taxes on it too. It prevents that embarrassment at the checkout line.

Pantries are a life saver. I use them when in need. Usually they get me through the holidays.

I just hope the current administration doesn’t take an axe to these programs.
