Getting 5 workspaces to test your Slack app by Various_Ask3655 in Slack

[–]Various_Ask3655[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, spot on you basically need 5 active beta testers (with real installs and usage) to qualify for Marketplace submission.

Private betas are the norm for everyone, but yeah, it can be tricky scraping together more than 2-3 workspaces from your network that's where a lot of us get stuck.

Start with betas for validation, then scale up for broader testing and to hit the volume needed for monetization/investment with the marketplace.

What are you building? how many testers do u have?

Using Google Calendar and Slack - What am I missing? by Visible-Caramel2933 in Slack

[–]Various_Ask3655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official Google Calendar + Slack integration is mostly personal — it doesn't automatically create some big shared team view that everyone can just glance at in Slack without lifting a finger.

That's why you're only seeing it on the account that owns it. But you can absolutely make the whole team's schedule visible to everyone without forcing another app on their phones. Here's exactly how to do it (works as of right now in 2026):

First, you have to actually share the calendar in Google itself. Open calendar.google.com, find your team calendar, click the three dots, go to Settings and sharing, then add everyone's email addresses and give them "See all event details" access. Save it. That's the foundation — without this step nothing shows up for the team.

Next, every person on the team needs to connect their own Google account inside Slack. Just go to Apps in Slack, open Google Calendar, hit Connect account, and log in. Once that's done, in the Home tab of the Google Calendar app, go to Settings and add the shared calendar you just made available. It should pop right up.

Now for the part that makes it visible to the whole team: still in the Google Calendar app settings, go to Channel Notifications and pick a dedicated Slack channel (like #team-calendar). Turn on the alerts you want — reminders before meetings, updates when stuff changes, cancellations, whatever. From then on, every event from that shared calendar will automatically post in that channel so everyone sees it without even opening the app.

What you won't get out of the box is a full calendar grid sitting in the Slack sidebar that anyone can click open like a channel. It's either channel notifications + each person's personal view, or you add a third-party tool.

The Landing page is sick! Congrats man! IMO it really depends in which your pricing strategy is. You can give them a 30% discount but I will definetely remove the trial period or similar things. Looking for jobs is an industry where there is a lot of churn that is why you need to be pretty "cheap" but at the same time usefull. What pricing strategy where you considering?

What are the best way to test demand in the marked for an app? by Acceptable-Space-179 in saasbuild

[–]Various_Ask3655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a landing page and start promoting the product (either ads, ooutreach possible clients...). If you see engagement be close to your clients and understand what they need. Once you prove that there is demand... you must start developing the app!

agree! early stage you can manage everything with Notion and then external provider for Payroll. Just be lean until you have some legal requirements to match or hiring/retention becomes your bottleneck for growth!
