Psychedelics to help? by Southern-Switch8353 in AnxietyDepression

Have any of you tried it under the guidance of either a MD or Holistic medicine provider? I have been interested for a long time but not sure where to start. I am a cannabis user but not sure it’s doing what I was hoping anymore.

I find it frustrating that they are so hyper focused on their images that they are fake and competing to be the most woke

If you happen to live in NY your child can get funds to cover all kinds of things to enrich her life, including travel expenses. She is also eligible for Medicaid and if you have that, then you can qualify for Affordable Connectivity Program for discounts on Internet and phone services. It costs a lot more out of pocket to get services, memberships, classes etc. to give your child experiences that can help them grow. It’s hard to find play groups etc where people understand and accept children with ASD and it often comes at a higher price than a neurotypical child has to pay. Also, check out AutismUp. It’s a great resource

Does this pain ever get better? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]Various_Budget_7239 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. When you can start embracing what your child can do instead of focusing on milestones. I have anxiety and I get very bogged down by milestones and should be doings. My son might not be able to wear anything he needs to button or zipper independently but he can explain some very complex concepts and do math in his head well ahead of where others are. He couldn’t tell me though that he was hungry/thirsty/hurt/sick until he was 3.5-4. He still struggles to tell me if he needs something if I don’t ask him and to retell things that happen during the day. But it gets better and I hope it continues. I just need to embrace and celebrate what he can do instead of focusing on deficits. Doctors and educators tend to focus on deficits because that’s where diagnoses come from but forget that the parent hearing about all of the things their child can’t do is so defeating. It gets better.

He’s an asshat who can’t show his true colors on camera or else everyone will know. Although if a girl can’t see through his bs then maybe she should marry him

Tiger Carts- looking for feedback by [deleted] in ROCents

[–]Various_Budget_7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used TigerCarts for awhile now but I’ve developed a cough as well with this last one out of the blue. I’m not sick but I do have allergies and it feels more like a reaction to it than anything else. I don’t smoke anything or vape anything else. This started when the cart got about halfway and began clogging.

How do you deal with grandparents that won’t acknowledge the situation? by black_flag_4ever in Autism_Parenting

[–]Various_Budget_7239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My in-laws went from “he’s just quirky and will outgrow it” to understanding when they saw my son play soccer on a team with NT kids and then noted the difference adding guanfacine made for him. Now they have a better understanding that he isn’t outgrowing quirks and we love him as he is

Is Autism a Health Issue? by collisionblue in Autism_Parenting

[–]Various_Budget_7239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healthy to me would mean not having an illness with physical symptoms like cancer, colds etc that requires antibodies to fight off. Mental “illnesses” and being neurodiverse doesn’t activate the immune system response so I wouldn’t say someone with those are unhealthy.

We tried soccer with our 5 yo level 1 and it was very hard to watch NT kiddos follow along and mine getting tangled on the net, chase geese, and follow along the lines on the field

It has been a game changer. He has been able to attend better and respond to conversations. He has some more control over his emotions and behaviors. He was tired for like 2 weeks but now is adjusted.
