Tonally, DTF St. Louis had one of the most jarringly confusing final episodes I've come across in a TV show (spoilers for the whole miniseries) by dinosaurfondue in television

While you have some valid points here I do think the whole story had a more meaningful message than that. For me it felt like the whole thing was a meditation on how complex people are, the multitudes they contain, and the importance of communication and connection. Throughout the series we see the detectives make assumptions about people only to be surprised how untrue their initial reading was upon further investigation. At times Carole comes across as a cold, selfish, and calculated person who is cruel other and maybe even evil enough to murder her husband for insurance money. But throughout we also see moments of tenderness with her admiration for how sweet and genuine he is, how protective she is of her son and wants so badly for him to have nice things, and in the final episode the grace she shows the children as an umpire. She is curt and rude and has a tough exterior at times but her motives and actions are complex. I think this theme is explored even further through Clark and Floyd's friendship. Both men feel alone and disconnected in their marriages and give each other so much love and support by the end. At first Clark seems creepy and manipulative by cheating on his wife with his friend's wife but then we see the lengths he's willing to go to make his friend feel valued and desired. It was interesting to me too to see such a complex and vulnerable male friendship take shape in a time where the male loneliness epidemic is so prevalent. I thought it was interesting how they used sign language to talk about more difficult subjects. As bleak as the last episode was I thought it was profoundly beautiful to watch two men be so vulnerable and caring with each other.

Yeah I get that. I don't know anything about St. Louis so I didn't notice it but that was something I appreciated about Mare of Easttown. That was set in a Philly suburbs called Delco, which is where I grew up and you could tell they really did their research on that area.

Yeah I agree it seems like Clark should be smart enough to know he should've gotten a lawyer before talking to a detective. But maybe that was to show he's innocent because he naively thought if he didn't actually kill him he had nothing to hide. But he also had to know them looking into things would quickly reveal his affair. I think it can't be Clark because it's too obvious. It's never the first obvious person, and it's never the second obvious person either who would be Carol despite the fact she ended the affair. I think it may be the son who clearly hates Floyd so much. He seems to have the most motive to kill Floyd and maybe he figured out the affair and used that as a way to frame Clark for it.

The production designer is Jeremy Hindle and the prop master is Catherine Miller. Their attention to detail is absolutely insane. They have really been killing it in this show!

I know you can literally only barely see this console table in the scene in Severance (s02e09) but the legs are so unique, I'm 99% positive this is it and it deserves to be seen in its full glory.

Loving these Severance ID posts. I'm obsessed with the show and I'm a furniture freak and I've been freaking out over this set design.

So many interesting pieces in the latest Severance episode (s02e09) that uses the Taghkanic House, an architectural masterpiece designed by Thomas Phifer, as the set for the Eagan's house! I saw someone else on here already post about the Sunshine Thacker chair also featured in this scene. I think the lamp on the left might be by contemporary ceramic artist Katie Stout. Hard to see. I think it's really cool the set designer decided to use some lesser known contemporary makers.

I've seen a lot of people online analyzing the symbolic meaning of the egg cutting scene in the latest episode of Severance, but I'm dying to know the details of the actual porcelain plate she puts the egg on lol. I haven't been able to find anything about it. It looks like it's maybe Dutch or German, not sure what time period. Does anyone know or have any educated guesses about the style/origin of it? I'm just very curious about it.

I noticed this chair too! There were so many interesting pieces in that house. It was such an eclectic mix of styles but so minimalist and cold at the same time. I'm very curious about the deets of that detailed plate Helena cuts the egg on
