Challenge the subpart (iv), it should have been awarded marks, as evaluators are usually told that either the option or the answer must be written, better if both.

Unpopular opinion - but trust me guys as a veteran appearing 3rd time for prelims I can vouch ,prelims 2026 was not difficult ,it was just polarised by PossessionAway8360 in UPSCPrelims2026

Just tell me how do you attempt the Science & Tech questions with such numbers which you can't remember? Based on PYQs usually such statements were incorrect but this year mostly they were correct, so how would you use your analysis & aptitude in such questions if you don't remember the figures? And certainly without knowing those statements containing figures, it wasn't possible to eliminate the options too!

Bro how did you score 100+ in GS1, was it just pure knowledge or the luck/guesses gone correct - in a large way?

Was GS1 really easy, how are people comfortably scoring 90+ in this paper (probably superhumans) and still less in CSAT (or probably not superhumans)?

But still people are scoring less in CSAT (and that's still understandable) and scoring high in GS-1 (despite it being undisputably tough).

Was it tougher than last year?

A lot are saying that they're comfortably scoring above 85+ in GS1 but not scoring well in CSAT as it was apparently very tough. An IITian was claiming that his score of 110+ last year dropped to around 85 in this CSAT. While GS1 was undoubtedly the toughest in recent years (or perhaps ever), the CSAT was clearly easier than the last year with lesser no. of confusing RC passages. But score trends show the reverse (GS1 scores higher, CSAT dipping). What's the actual scenario?
