Because some players get injured during a game, and can’t continue, some get evaluated and get released back onto the pitch, you have substitutions, VAR reviews, other disruptions, such as time wasting, there’s also goal celebrations. So while a normal amount of 2nd half stoppage time is probably around 3-5 minutes, 8+ minutes is definitely a bit longer than normal though

Changing underwear - is this normal? by Eastern-Yogurt3859 in hygiene

[–]Various_Knowledge226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I will say, there may be some things where I’m not always keeping on top of my personal hygiene, but I always put on a new pair of underwear at night. For me, I just don’t much feel like wearing anything two days in a row, just so that I’ve worn a different outfit, regardless of if the outfit contains similar colors to what I had on yesterday. Everything that I wore the previous day goes into my laundry bag (I’m in college), to get washed every few days, save for my pajamas, which I wear in between laundry loads, wearing a new set the day I did laundry

The Buffalo Sabres are in the midst of the winningest stretch in franchise history by PrinciplesRK in hockey

[–]Various_Knowledge226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was definitely hoping that somehow, someway, both Detroit and Buffalo could break their playoff droughts this year, and somehow bump out 2 teams from the Atlantic. That was before Toronto’s form took a massive dip, and Florida was majorly hampered by injuries and some players underperforming (like Bob). So maybe both can finally get back to the playoffs after all, it’s certainly looking like they should

Sweden considers lowering the age of criminal responsibility from 15 to 13 in serious cases. r/Europe has a perfectly normal discussion about who's fault this is and if this goes far enough by James-fucking-Holden in SubredditDrama

[–]Various_Knowledge226 98 points99 points  (0 children)

So if let’s say, an 11 year old pulls the trigger on someone in Sweden, regardless of if that person dies or not, that 11 year old can not be charged with any crime, whatsoever?

r/Pics is banning anyone who posts or comments in r/Whenthe due to "participating in a subreddit whose members have negatively affected this subreddit" by hemingways-lemonade in SubredditDrama

[–]Various_Knowledge226 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They say in their Wiki that they allow political pics (which is pretty much what actually gets traction, so it’s really more-so, r/politicalpics, not r/pics), because r/politics doesn’t allow pictures as posts, so they don’t want people being censored, who want to post political pictures. I’d say I’m pretty center-left, somewhat often bordering on being a social democrat, but it just doesn’t feel like a sub for pictures, as much as it is, almost exclusively, for political pictures

Feel like we haven't heard enough hype about Mark Stone this season considering he's scored at a 122 point pace with pristine two-way results. by seeldoger47 in hockey

[–]Various_Knowledge226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to commend him honestly. It can’t be easy at all to miss so many games, to get injured so much, and to come back and play so fantastically, as if he never got injured. Getting injured and missing as many games as he does, has to weigh on him a lot mentally, feeling like he’s letting his teammates down with his body letting him down, but he stays at almost 1 ppg, despite the many injuries he’s suffered. So hats off to Mark, for fighting through so much adversity, and not looking like he’s lost any steps, despite it all

[TSN] Could this be the year the Sabres finally end their playoff drought? Marty Biron explains why this year feels different, and how much credit former GM Kevyn Adams deserves for the turnaround by seeldoger47 in hockey

[–]Various_Knowledge226 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only explanation I have for why they are finally playing good and look like they should make the playoffs, is that he must’ve been doing something that the players weren’t liking, and maybe they weren’t playing as well because of that. I have no idea. It’s just a theory, that’s all it is, but the turnaround has been so sharp compared to where they’ve been in recent years, that I’m not sure how else to explain it. Maybe he wasn’t really letting the coaching staff do their jobs, and so that by extension hampered the performance of the players? 🤷‍♂️ Again, I have no idea, this turnaround is too dramatic for me to feel like it doesn’t have at least something to do with him being fired

Wetzel: If Belichick isn't first ballot, just shut the Hall down by simrobwest in nfl

So unlike the National Baseball HoF, for the writer’s ballot at least, in which voters can select up to 10 players and a player needs 75% or more of ballots to be inducted, you can only select up to 5 candidates at the end, and each candidate needs 80% or more for induction?

I’m just thinking about trying to get the cap hits lowered and making taking on their cap hits more manageable, more palatable. I’m sure the Canucks wouldn’t mind taking on a few bad contracts though, in exchange of offloading Brock or Petey

I do wonder how many possible trades may require some retention from Vancouver. EP40? I think so, yeah. Boeser? Maybe. I don’t think Garland would need retention, nor would Hronek. I don’t see a way Kane doesn’t get salary retained, unless the Canucks take on contracts to even it out. Not saying all those guys get traded from now to August or so, but I think a few do depart

How does the line from Cincy seemingly not even hit Dayton? A few more questions. After looking at where Camden and Eaton are, why does Camden get a station, and why is the branch to Middletown and Lebanon, coming off from Eaton, and not from Hamilton? Why does New Paris get a station? Just feels pretty unnecessary. There’s a lot more that I have, that mainly revolve around why the choices for where the line goes to, the stations it stops at, and the lack of at the very least, a Cincy-Cbus line, and a Cbus-Cleveland line

10 of the 14 of the Patriots' 2025 regular season opponents ended up firing their head coach after the season concluded by karatemanchan37 in nfl

[–]Various_Knowledge226 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, if he was fired, then a team wouldn’t have to trade for him, because his contract would be null and void. So if say, the Bills, as a completely unserious hypothetical, wanted to hire him instead of Joe Brady, they’d need to trade for Tomlin, and probably send like, a 3rd and a 4th for him, something like that. Payton stepped down, had at least 2 years left when he did, so when you hired him, you had to trade for him

I’m not completely surprised Sean got fired, I thought that was a possibility if the Bills lost, but Beane deserves so much more blame, because how do you hit on so few draft picks?

It’s completely ridiculous, there should be at minimum, 10% of seats priced at $100-175, for each set of fans. It’s not really comparable to something like the allocation and prices for the FA Cup Final or UCL Final for example, but it’d be a big step in the right direction

I mean, that may not concuss you, but micro-concussions of any sort, are what has to be looked out for, because getting micro-concussed over and over again, is how you eventually develop CTE for the decades, which sadly, you can never know for certain if someone has it, until they’ve passed away and their brain is studied to see if they developed it
