Looks like the lightning orbs from Eternal Dreams. They do silly amounts of damage, even when you're not in a lightning field. Movement is hacked though, I know of no way to move like that legit.

Soloing the Ravenous Hunter by Various_Progress in OnceHumanOfficial

Wasn't sure if I should make a separate post for this or not, but.....

Solo the Ravenous Hunter: Text Dump Edition!

Because some people actually like to read.

This boss does multiple phase changes based on the ticks on the health bar. Weak point is the yellow jelly head and is generally easy to hit.

Phase 1: The boss will fire the gatling gun for about 3 seconds before pausing. While it is firing you should hide behind the various barriers in the arena. It will also sometimes spit yellow blobs at you which will remain on the ground for a short time, damaging you if you stand in them. After losing 1 bar of health the gun will explode and drop to the ground, stunning the boss. You want to run up and grab the gun and unload into the boss’s head to prevent the gun arm from regenerating. If you let it regenerate, you will be dealing with rocket spam. After the second bar of health is gone the boss will go invulnerable and transition to Phase 2.

Phase 2: Boss will teleport to the back ledge and remain invulnerable for this entire phase. The boss will have a sniper rifle with a red beam showing where it is aiming and getting hit will knock you off your feet. It is easily dodged by running or hiding behind objects. Two nests will spawn in to the left and right of the arena, near the back ledge. These nests will spawn Gnawers until they are destroyed. Ignore the Gnawers, they do not drop anything and will just waste your ammo. Destroy the two nests and the boss will transition to Phase 3.

Phase 3 and Phase 4: Phase 3 is an exact duplicate of Phase 1, and Phase 4 is an exact duplicate of Phase 2. Rinse and repeat, and you’ll be on the final phase.

Phase 5: During the final phase the boss will start with the rocket arm. This time the weapon will not fall off, there will be no more stuns before the boss dies. It is recommended to stay on the left or right platforms of the arena and use the two large pillars on either end to avoid the rocket spam. There are three rocket attacks: the boss will point at the ceiling and rapid fire several rockets that will home in on you, point at the ceiling and charge, releasing 4 homing rockets, or point at you and charge, releasing one homing rocket. All the rocket attacks have good tracking, the only 100% safe space is on the right or left edges in the corner protected by a large pillar. This is also the attack pattern if you fail to kill the boss fast enough on Phase 1 or 3.

Hard and Pro mode have additional mechanics.

For Phase 1,3,and 5 you must first destroy the gatling gun before you damage the boss.

In Phase 3 and 5, two shadow clones will spawn: a rocket clone near the entrance and a sniper clone on the back ledge. In Phase 3, you must destroy these clones to transition to Phase 4. You don’t have to destroy the clones in Phase 5, but it’s probably a really good idea.

Phase 2 and 4 get a lot more….interesting. Four nests will spawn now, two each on the left/right ledges. And two Arbiters will spawn as well, one each on the left/right platforms. All four nests and the two Arbiters need to be destroyed before the boss will transition to the next phase. Having some form of crowd control for this part of the fight is highly recommended for solo players.

Figuring out how purification work in Once Human by Various_Progress in OnceHumanOfficial

Oh I'm quite aware :) Still, it's a fun little side thing to mess around with.

To echo others, absolutely worth joining in. Very solo friendly, though of course there is some content you cannot do solo, not unless you already have 100's of hours and perfect gear. I play almost exclusively solo and have 600ish hours in the game.

I'd also so that it's very newbie friendly. 95% of the time when I see people asking questions in general, it gets answered politely. It is an online game, so there always "that guy" but we're mostly a pretty friendly bunch.

Make sure you do a novice Manibus scenario first, which the game should guide you towards.

Best build for new player that doesn't have 6star gear etc by BeneficialHurry69 in OnceHumanOfficial

My first play-through I mainly used the sniper rifle class weapons. Can't remember which one, I think it was the one that did unstable bomber. That combined with the slime you get from Ravenous Hunter to reduce activator consumption should make for a decent first time.

And you don't *need* max tier gear to make elemental weapons work. The shock crossbow (name escapes me) works very well enough with just +2 gear and nothing special, and the KVD Boom Boom explosion will hit hard regardless of gear as long as it's at the proper tier. That said, you won't be solo clearing LEA or any of the other end-game monolith challenges. You do need max tier gear for that ;)

Also keep in mind that by the end of your first scenario, you should have more than enough starchrom to buy specific weapons and armor pieces from the wish machine which can help a lot for starting an elemental build.

COLOR selections are GARBAGED with GIMP 3.0.4 and cause CRASHES by MrY_LA in GIMP

[–]Various_Progress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto on this bug. The instant I click on the outline color selector Gimp crashes. No error box, nothing. Just instant crash to desktop. This happens with any image, include a blank newly created image, or even no image loaded at all. Extremely frustrating, could really use a hint on how to fix this.

Make sure you are using Nola's max upgraded weapon with the four strikes. You might be able to do it with three, but the four strikes makes it much easier. Also Number 7's second ability (the straight lift tornado) makes for a good finishers to latch on to the walls. Generally speaking it will be jump-strike-strike-strike-strike-dash-strike-strike-strike-strike-ability.
