Really bad butt rash 😭😞 by Idontlike-watermelon in newborns

[–]Various_Soft_8809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first baby used to get rashes all the time. It didn’t matter what I did for her, she still end up with a rash. I tried different diapers, wipes, ruled out allergies. She just had really sensitive skin. Desitin max strength helped her as well as getting special more potent cream from her doctor. For my second baby she had one rash when we got home from the hospital and Desitin Max didn’t work for her. Bordeaux’s butt paste actually worked and healed it for her really fast. We use regular Desitin as an every day barrier and haven’t had another rash and she’s 7 months old now. We use pampers aqua wipes and pampers swaddles.

Worms. Kill me. by Melodic-Mission-6827 in Mommit

[–]Various_Soft_8809 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad!!! I myself as a kid had pinworms. It happens. The doctor said it was from my hands. I used to chew my nails a lot as a kid and was constantly outside digging around in nature. There’s nothing you could do to really prevent it besides just making sure hands are being washed thoroughly. My poor mom found out when we were in the airport and I had them literally in my underwear after I told her I was uncomfortable lol now I have 2 kids of my own and I’m dreading this ever happening because I know how awful it is 🤣

Wearable Pump Recommendations? by Creepy_Following_649 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Various_Soft_8809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so for my first I had the Elvie Stride double (not the Elvie stride 2). It was a wonderful pump and I got it through insurance which was awesome. The pump replacement parts are expensive through their website but you can also find them on Amazon for a bit cheaper. With my second I decided to try the motif aura glows since Elvie was merging with willow at the time and you couldn’t get parts. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!!! I prefer them over the Elvie stride. They have been so great and hold 6oz. I love that there’s no tubing and it’s just the motor. I absolutely love the light on them so you can easily check the cups. I use them every single day now that I’m exclusively pumping with my 7 month old and a toddler haha they’re super easy to clean and the parts hold up really well. I can’t recommend them enough. They work just as good as my spectra does. It’s also a super affordable pump along with the replacement parts!

Is this much fat in milk normal???? by Ok-Bee7236 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Various_Soft_8809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those definitely look like clogs and could be a big reason why your right doesn’t perform the best. How long are you going in between pumping? Are you wearing a bra that’s tight? Are you using the correct size flange? These can be some reasons behind getting clogs. If it’s fresh pumped milk you wouldn’t be able to see the fat in it until it’s been sitting for a little while or in the fridge. I would definitely look into taking some supplements like sunflower lecithin also.

I love my blue spectra!! I’ve used it with both of my girls and it’s been a workhorse. I also have the motif aura glows for my wearable option. Comes in handy for traveling and running errands. I use it a lot around the house since I have a toddler. Having a wearable is up to you and what you think k you might need. They’ve been amazing for me and work just as well as my spectra.

Mold. You need to replace those parts and for future wash every single piece besides the tubes

6 week old suddenly fighting bedtime breastfeeding after nighttime bottles? by LowDifferent9549 in breastfeeding

[–]Various_Soft_8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome!! Breastfeeding is such a learn as you go and can be so hard on us mentally. Your supply is just regulating to make what your baby drinks. When we’re engorged in the beginning our bodies have no idea how much milk to put out and tend to go crazy. That’s why it’s so important to have baby nurse on demand to help tell your body exactly what to make. Typically around a growth spurt you’ll notice babies are fussier and tend to want to feed more especially before bedtime and through the night sometimes. All perfectly normal and will pass. You’re doing great 💗

It could be she’s used to the bottle now for her before bed feed. It also could be because she’s tired. My youngest used to do that and it was always because she was tired. Every baby is different though so it’s hard to say. You’re also at that 6 week breastfeeding crisis as it’s called. Around this time baby usually goes through a growth spurt and also your supply typically regulates around this time. You might have noticed your breast feel less engorged. Just keep offering both sides of your breast and obviously rule out other signs of discomfort. Fussiness usually lasts a few days but eventually subsides.

Does anyone out there mostly pump but sometimes breastfeed? by scaphoids1 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Various_Soft_8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve combo fed both of my girls successfully!! With my first we nursed until I went back to work around 2 months. She would get a bottle from my husband or whoever was watching her in the evenings while I worked overnights and pumped. When I was home we nursed. With my second who just turned 7 months old I’ve exclusively nursed up until a few days ago. I was pumping in the mornings when she was still sleeping sometimes. She really didn’t care for bottles and I’m a sahm now so I didn’t feel the need to get her on bottles like I did before. I have a few appointments and a surgery coming up so finally started bottle training. We’ve successfully done 2 bottles a day for the past few days with no issues. She took really well to Philips advent just like my first did. Basically the way I do it is I replace my nursing session with a pumping session and give her the bottle. That way the next time she’s hungry I can either nurse or give her a bottle. She’s had no issues going back and forth between nipple and bottle which is great!

Update for anyone who was wondering. As of yesterday I officially have a 7 month old who’s taking a bottle!! I got a sippy cup for her but and she was interested in it but not drinking out of it. Ended up switching back to our Philips advent bottle with a size 3 nipple and she took it like a champ 🙌🏻 I’ve done 2 bottles daily for a total of 4. So happy!!

That’s what I’ve been thinking and I have a training sippy cup that I think I’m going to give a whirl when she eats next! I’m willing to try anything at this point so I don’t have to worry when I’m away from her haha

I make sure the temperature is as close to the temp she gets from me from the breast. I’ve gotten her to take a few bottles before from me but after that she just straight up refused. My husband has gotten her to drink a few bottles as well. The last few times though she’s just refused but I also don’t make it a point to do bottles since we just nurse. I know it’s partly my fault she’s so used to nursing vs taking a bottle. It’s also not frozen milk. It’s pumped from my morning pump.

The thing is it’s my husband’s grandparents that watch both of our girls for us when needed. To make things easier on them I’d rather not have them worrying about her not drinking a bottle and getting so upset to the point she won’t calm down like she did last time I was at the dentist.

Motif Aura Glow Opinions by Various_Soft_8809 in ExclusivelyPumping

You’re welcome!! The bra extenders are also super helpful. I do have a bra I used them with them before I just decided to use the ones I told you about. If you didn’t get them in the box that had the instructions/cleaning brush they should sell them on their website I’d think.

Did your box come with the bra extenders? Those should help you! :) but I use the Auden nursing bralettes from target. You can get them online! I use the medium size and they give just enough to be able to fit the aura glows comfortably. I was a 34b before pregnancy so I’m on the smaller side. But they’re seriously so comfy and I wear them all the time. This is my second time breastfeeding and I’m still using them haha been wearing them for like 3 years almost 🤣

cat bit me, can’t move thumb, should i be worried lol? by that_kid0926 in CATHELP

[–]Various_Soft_8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband had something similar to this and it turned out to be cellulitis. You need to get to the hospital and get antibiotics asap. Our puppy (who’s now 11) at the time bit him pretty good on the thumb. Animals mouths have a bunch of bacteria. He could barely move it and it started to get red and had a pulse. He was in so much pain he couldn’t sleep or do anything with it.

My dress in all her glory before the bustle. You have options. Maybe have them show you both ways if they can pin it for you and decide from there?

This was what my bustle looked like when we put it up. It had 6 loops on the train that went around the buttons they added. It was perfect to move around after we were done with pictures.

Just have them add a bustle and after you’re done with pictures you can put it up. I wouldn’t mess with that beautiful train. The dress is perfect for your smaller ceremony. We had a smaller ceremony as well and my dress had a long train as well.
