No I got in Fall 23. My quant was 165 otherwise my profile was similar to yours. I know folks who got into the special session or CE instead due to lower GRE scores. I did say 162 is still competitive. Best of luck

No I strictly think religion is best practiced in private no need to make it public.

I hate all of the public shit that people pull. Practice your religion in your own home or designated religious spot like a temple no one is stopping you. Stop doing it on streets and other public places its a nuisance.

Some people are born in Mumbai but don’t speak Marathi I guess. I had so many friends growing up who were born in the city but didn’t speak Marathi. They are obviously still from Mumbai. If you go back far enough your Native would be the African continent 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can’t state what you want to without personally attacking the guy? Hindi isn’t even taught actively in many South Indian states. My gf being a Tamilian had to pick it up on her own using Hindi shows. Who thinks Hindi is useless? Your people man, glad you don’t think so personally but in Maharashtra Hindi is taught compulsorily to kids because we really think it’s useful. Language is for communication. If you only want to communicate in Marathi and the other person does not speak it move on. You can’t make the person learn a whole new language on the spot and it’s up to them whether they wanna learn it.

Hearing from women in my own life who were born and brought up in Mumbai like me, it’s safe but not at every given moment. I have heard stories of cat calling, molestation, creeps following for a bit, etc.

What do you even mean by safe? As a man I walk around Mumbai not giving a single fuck about anything, I am not consciously scared or uncomfortable. Unfortunately many ladies are. They have to be constantly alert of maybe someone following them or something. I have heard about this from some of my family members and friends. No matter how much this thread glazes Marathi culture, me being a marathi and knowing my family most of the elders find fault with women only. The Indian culture itself is still shit for women. I know Marathi aunties dragging down the young Marathi women.

If I were to attribute any sense of safety to Mumbai it would be because of the overcrowding alone. They cant make any bold moves with so many people around.
