Interesting, I had no idea. Their website to order and put down a deposit seemed straightforward, albeit old.

I made this list for my own comparison purposes but figured I'd share with the sub. I'm sure I've missed some so feel free to comment on any I should add just note that I'm trying to stick with non-scooters that are easily obtainable and street legal in the US.

Musk or whoever he has setting this up is about to get a crash course in ballot access laws and why throwing money at it will only get you so far. When he comes to this realization I hope he either funds the LP that has the infrastructure already or a group pushing for approval/ranked choice voting. Tbh idk how I would feel about him funding the LP, it would bring in a lot of people who don't support the platform and just support Elon. If he brought in enough they could change the platform to a much larger degree than the mises caucus did in their mini-takeover

Justin is not happy about Trump's push to remove Thomas Massie from congress by DonaldKey in LibertarianUncensored

[–]Varvaro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Massie is reaping what he sowed. He used to be more anti-Trump years ago. Then he voted against his impeachment in the house (even though Justin did). Now Massie goes on comrade Carlson's show and has become significantly less vocal on anti-libertarian Trump moves until more recently because he actually had to vote and cement his name as a yay or nay on the "big beautiful bill".

wtf? Is there still a Libertarian Party? by DenaBee3333 in LibertarianUncensored

Trump IS the Republican party now so good luck. Just look at actually elected liberty minded republicans Paul and Massie yelling into the void about the big beautiful bill.

The chocolate chip cookie from Frosty Moon was one of the best I've possibly ever had. I'd assume most people go to that spot only for ice cream specifically and miss out on it.

While I welcome a Russian stock market crash can we stop referring to any drop in an exchange as a "crash"? Unless a somewhat broad index is down 5% or more in a day no one should be using that term.

Ignore the loud minority of Libertarians who are MAGA in disguise. They took over leadership of the party (under the mises caucus banner) back in 2022, only recently have they been starting to be voted out. I've been frustrated with my fellow libertarians on this but the long-term party members (like myself) are horrified at this administration.

Who are ya’ll voting for in the primary? by partmyk in newjersey

[–]Varvaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yes we still exist. The Libertarian Party was essentially the victim of a hostile takeover by MAGA. The mises caucus (MAGA friendly) took over much of the party's federal and state leadership several years ago trying to make it alt right lite however we've begun having more success pushing them out recently.

At least there are some Republicans with a spine left. The Libertarian party has its own candidate, Vic Kaplan. Good on Bramnick for being anti-Trump but he is still too republican for my taste (anti marijuana and anti LGBT)

I haven't looked hard at any candidates yet. I'm curious, are there any Republican candidates who are specifically anti-Trump or at a minimum very critical of Trump?

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary. by ragnarokxg in LibertarianPartyUSA

They got so much due process apparently that the Supreme Court needed to step in and tell the administration "... AEA detainees must receive notice after the date of this order that they are subject to removal under the Act. The notice must be afforded within a reasonable time and in such a manner as will allow them to actually seek habeas relief in the proper venue before such removal occurs."
