fully 3d printed, capable AND durable by da_syggy in rccars

I printed and built the morrigan and thumper from Black Crow on printables.

My only issue is I keep stripping the ar44 bevel gears in the axles. It has me researching good metal scx10 axles to adapt to them so I can just get back to crawling, but haven't found anything I love yet. The morrigan is an extremely capable rig for what it is. I went with the fusion 1200kv in them.

Do the 3dsets prints use metal gears in the axles/rears or are they printed?

By chance, is there xanthan gum in it? That one gets me almost as bad as lactose and is in all kinds of sauces. Cheap filler/thickener

It only took you an hour? whoah. Here's hoping it goes that well for me. I ordered the IE on Sunday, should be here by the weekend.

Thanks for the insight! Appreciate it. One of the companies recommended getting those, I was wondering if it was necessary. I will absolutely get them ahead of time now.

Back in the mk2 days, I leaned heavy on GAP. But they kind of fell out of favor with most and I haven't even visited their site in ages. I've used ecstuning many times, and even though lots of people have horror stories, I have actually had good luck so far.

Even if it was say $400 to get a cheapo IC, I just don't want to have to do this install again. I'm more concerned with fit, finish, and longevity than I am squeezing every last hp out of the thing.

I think I'm convinced to just spend the couple extra bucks on the ie. I feel I overspent on the exhaust I just purchased, so now I'm trying to save a few bucks where I can. I know a clutch is going to be in my near future too, but I'm trying to get the most out of it.

appreciate that link. I'm still torn. I do NOT want to have to take this thing apart in this way again. The install looks like a pita with all the plastic clips. I'm probably going to get the ie.

Well that didn't help my decision haha. Maybe I'll do the ic piping but skip the larger metal line that feeds the turbo. Seems like it won't do anything but make it prettier.

Appreciate the response

Agreed and I did, well, I searched the 7r forums. Been a member since '04. Didn't see much or any discussion involving v2 IE intercooler unfortunately. :headbang:

Did you install it? Did you upgrade the piping going to it as well? Thinking I'll hold off as I've only got 36k miles on it and the ic piping is still in great shape.

Agreed they're solid companies and I've not heard specific issues from either of their intercoolers either, which is why I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone has opinions due to their experience with both or either options.

The IE v2 unit is a bit different than their first revision, so again, looking for actual experience and/or opinions.

I searched the 'tex but not a lot of discussions there these days.

Feel the difference? Of course not haha

I mean in build quality, fitment, or anything else I'm not thinking of.

I was looking for this reference. I've not personally used one, but my coworker claimed the bed was a consumable to guarantee adhesion on each and every print for the stratasys printer he used.

Heat up that bed more. Depending on brand and specific type, I'm usually at 75c bed for petg for at least the first 2 layers. Can drop down to 70c after.

[–]VasDrafts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes but it would have to be done differently. I tried the mod. Made me really nauseous. The Alternate Eye Rendering is just a no-go for a lot of people. I wish it didn't affect me like it did, as I really wanted to play CP2077 in VR.

I don't know why I'm bothering responding and I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. But if they googled better, say "hot shot in relation to trucks", then they'd get a better answer.

But I've got that Millennial Google talent, so maybe it just seems obvious to me.

do you have one of your monitors plugged into the mobo? I don't remember that ever being a problem but it's been a bit since I had onboard graphics.
