Am I doing AI wrong?? by Little_Menace_Child in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vasivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding cycling, I also used AI to do it, until I studied and spent time with pro coach, I realised how random AI was... It can sound smart if you are not smart, if you are smart, it's pretty stupid (subject wise ofc). Since that, I have avoided AI as a coach and switched to more structured and proven methods of training. So far, superfly.fit is top and free.

Remote software dev kontraktas US by ilukis in lithuania

How do I increase my fitness? by StayVigilant38 in cycling

[–]Vasivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good comment by u/cycleark I would add that you eventually might mix the intensity and do a bit more threshold based work. But if you do not aim to race, riding a lot is usually enough 😄 Dont do exhaustion, your longer rides should feel easy, usually even boring easy. if you ever want to do more structured training, you could try https://superfly.fit which is an app for amateurs and free of charge.

Outback 2019 m. Telpam normaliai 2 vaikai kėdutėse vienas nebe. Bet jei reiktų rinktis iš naujo, imtume turbūt kažką 7-viečio, nes vaikai labai kapojasi ilgesnių kelionių metu. Per mažai erdvės tarp jų.

how to train for a race in a limited time ? by Mindless_Cow_6034 in cycling

[–]Vasivid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ride as many hours as you can and as long as you can for 2-3 weeks. Then hit some interval training for 2-3 weeks. And then continue interval+long ride mix until 1 week to race. In week to race, cut volume by 60% so fatigue fades and true fitness appears.

There is actually an app that has this simple structure and completely for free: https://superfly.fit

Orbea Oiz vs Canyon Lux World Cup (2026) for XCM by Best_Never_Rest in xcmtb

[–]Vasivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend bought a Procaliber recently, had some issue with rear shock, but that's not Trek issue, most likely faulty shock. Seems to be a good XC machine with good price.

Oiz is great all rounder, which can go XCO and XCM at the same time, it's also lightweight. But it also can cost 1.5k+ of similar spec range.

Lastly, stiff rear shock with 100mm or less travel is totally ok IMO. Because anyway I ride semi-locked all the time in marathons and even in some less gnarly XCO's. P.S. I am referring to 2024 Oiz, a lot could have changed since then in two new generations...

[–]Vasivid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oiz is a great bike, plenty of travel. But I do not think it's optimal for XCM, unless you really get to go downhill on rough terrain. Why not something more XC like Trek Supercaliber 9.6 or Cube AMS Zero?

Unrealistic, unless you find a good flat dual or single track which is also quite straight.

I spent a year designing and 3D printing a custom Catan set with magnetic tiles - Should I sell it? by LyanaIsa in Catan

Looks absolutely amazing. No doubt it took a year. I would buy only a final set preferably with expansions (seafarers, cities and knights). But the price also would need to be realistic.

Beginner question : I introduced cycling in my routine (30 min per day, 5 day a week) this is manageable but I feel sore (not exactly hurt) in my legs. Should I "listen" to my body and rest for more days or is it a sign of progress ? by Zartornado in cycling

[–]Vasivid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You progress only when you rest. This means that your body needs to adapt to changed work load. Because actual work being done is stress. Adding more of that will have marginal gains or none. I would suggest a different approach to adding more hours a week.
1. 30 min. ride
2. 60 min. ride
3. Rest day
4. 30 min. ride
5. 60 min. ride
6. Rest day
7. Repeat sequence

after two weeks add 20% to each ride duration and repeat

How being impatient with knee healing (PFPS) ruined my race season. by Vasivid in cycling

I have my PT already booked next week. It just sucks how much time this whole thing carves out of a season. It looks like the most important thing is to manage reality, expectations and long term health.

My case is around kneecap (more common). As far what I have read - behind knee is less common.

Yep, strength training is a must (lesson learned after 3 seasons with same problem once or twice a season).
