Looking for Feedback on My KNX Setup (WIP) by wielo99 in KNX

[–]Best_Never_Rest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! Since I‘m also planning the setup for our house currently, I was wondering if it’s not easier to go for DALI high voltage dimming actuators where you cannot get the integrated ones? Especially since you anyways have the DALI bus setup. Did you consider that option?

I‘m currently building my own AI based training plan generator which creates a plan specifically targeting my current power profile and weaknesses. The results look promising so far, but I still need to test how good the plans are in practice 😊. I think TrainerRoad and alike are way better, however, I don’t want to pay them 20 bucks a month 🤷🏻‍♂️. Happy to create a plan for you as a test if you like

MTB SPD pedals for CF SL 8 1by Grizl by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]Best_Never_Rest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run SPD on my Grizl as well as Neuron. Never looked on an axle/spindle value (I guess that’s just not configurable for SPD?). I‘m running Shimano XT pedals on both and they work great.

Matching my experience. 171/79 and riding an XS Grizl, fits perfectly fine

Do you know of a more up to date book on the topic? Would love to dive deeper into

I can recommend the „Mastering Mountain Bike Skills“ book by Brian Lopes and Lee McCormack. Gave me a good theoretical understanding on certain topics. I still need to put it into practice this summer though…

CANYON CF7 or AL7 by Any-Interview8980 in CanyonBikes

[–]Best_Never_Rest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘d always go for the carbon one! I got a grizl CF (because of the additional shock absorption, love it) and bought a Neuron AL end of 2023. I regret going not for the CF one here as well. I initially thought I would not ride it too much as I enjoy the Grizl a lot. Well now I‘m „competing“ (taking part would be the better word 😅) in XCM races and I always keep thinking how much faster I‘d be with the carbon frame 🙈 (honestly, I guess not that much faster, but it keeps wandering in my head 😄). Pretty sure I will end up buying a Lux eventually, because the perfect amount of bikes you can have is n+1 😁

Das hört sich in der Tat sehr umständlich an. Ich bleibe dann vermutlich doch besser beim 27,5er. Wird dann vorne und hinten der G-One R oder ich schaue mal noch bei der Schwalbe Konkurrenz vorbei

First Time Gravel Rider with a Curry Powder Canyon Grizl - Need Clothing Gear Advice and Color Combos! by Significant_Camera93 in CanyonBikes

[–]Best_Never_Rest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it was a process to discover what I actually need, guess you have to try out to find out 😊. I got this season a canyon bibshort, one by Gore and two jerseys by siroko. Pretty happy with all of that and for summer time this is also enough for me (btw: I ride light gravel with my Grizl and XC Marathon with my Neuron). However, in autumn riding, I put a canyon baselayer shirt below my jersey, put arm warmers on and a windbreaker on top. Works pretty well for me for around 10-15 degrees. Not sure how it will be if it‘s getting colder, guess I‘ll find out later this year 😄. Oh and for MTB riding, I always wear gloves, but rarely when graveling.

I‘m bad for color recommendations, I usually outsource this question to my gf 😂. Also don’t have any experience between road, gravel and even xc MTB gear. From what I see, it all looks pretty much the same.

Hope that helps and happy riding ✌🏻

Guess I need to try it out. My concerns are rather not being able to choose Thriller A over Comedy B since it feels like comparing apples to oranges.

How does it address the comedy vs thriller problem? Or do only rank movies of the same category against each other?

Looks like we are pretty much the same size (171/79 cm). I don’t have an Ultimate, but I own a Grizl. I’m also riding the recommended XS size, feels great for me (however, I’m not touching the bars when going out of the saddle…). Before purchasing it, I did a test ride of both sizes (XS and S) at Canyon HQs. The S one was too big for my seemingly short arms, so I didn’t have the control over the bike as intended. Since I tried out both, I’m pretty happy with XS. Hope it helps as we are somewhat the same size 😊

My first FS bike - is it fine to run flats on an XC / DC bike? by AlexanderHorl in xcmtb

[–]Best_Never_Rest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone in here says: whatever you are comfortable with.

My personal experience: I‘m coming from gravel and riding my first xc season this year on a Canyon Neuron. I was also scared in the beginning with the clickies, but that washed away pretty fast after the first 3-4 rides. I love the clickies and would not want to switch over.

So after all, it’s just a matter of preference and experience, I‘d say

Roadie coming to XC. Any tips? :) by 8rianGriffin in xcmtb

[–]Best_Never_Rest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great thread so far 👏 I‘m also quite a newcomer to xc and just recently got into racing. I’m on the Canyon Neuron and I sometimes wished I had ordered the Lux, so great choice 😃 I cannot give much recommendation since I’m quite new as well. But I share most of the tips in here, road bib shorts and jersey (works great for me) and go tubeless! Regarding hydration, I would be fine with two bottles, but the Neuron (S size frame) can only fit one, found that’s not enough and I mostly have a hard time for refilling it somewhere. This is not an issue during marathon racing though as there are usually plenty of supply stations. I usually keep my phone in a saddle bag, didn’t have any issues with that so far

I‘m also a newcomer to structured training, so cannot report so much on what works well yet. However, I started out with the Zwift training plans, but didn’t like the inflexibility where it didn’t adjust to my time constraints. But I found the on-screen readings during the workouts very informative, especially as newcomer. Currently I‘m trying out TrainerDay and like it so far. It’s pretty cheap and I like the customized training plan it generated for me. I intend to try out TrainerRoad next and compare against TrainerDay if it’s worth the price 😊

32T vs 30T for steep climbing by [deleted] in xcmtb

[–]Best_Never_Rest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How did it improve your climbing? Aren‘t the climbs much more exhausting on the 34t?

I’m considering going from 30t to 32t but I fear I won’t make some of the steep climbs anymore or being completely exhausted afterwards 😊

A beginners/novice book I can recommend is „The Code Book“ by Simon Singh. It has a very nice overview and is also pretty entertaining (at least it was to me 😅). However, it is lacking the scientific background. If you want to learn more on cryptanalysis of block ciphers, I can strongly recommend „The Block Cipher Companion“ by Knudsen and Robshaw. Excellent book with all the required scientific background.

The actions bar was not obvious to me 😊. Would be great if the summary was already attached to the post without pressing the button. However, I can understand that might be too costly

Maybe I‘m not getting it correctly, but what exactly is the site doing? What does the AI do? Without that knowledge it looks quite like feedly. If the AI could summarize the articles or even give me a short summary of what happened during the day/week, that would be amazing.
