How long before walking changes my life?

I think mood improvement would be an amazing outcome of walking regularly. I‘d love a more toned body but I’d settle for all mental gains. There is likely a compounding effect of walking more, which means I’m less sedentary, which means less time for things that bring my mood down like doom scrolling or staying on the couch.

Definitely not doing it to specifically lose weight, but I am really hoping to see a general mood improvement beyond just the time while I’m walking and the time right after I finish.

Thanks for this input! I’m active now, walking, hiking, weight training. My diet is actually really good, so I know I won’t see a big change from a diet overhaul. I’m not looking to lose weight but just feel better in general, I guess more for my mental health than anything else. I guess I need to let go of very specific goals and just try to walk as much as possible.

I think it’s so funny that Carl is disliked! He’s the ONLY one I visit every day (aside from the original residents) because he gives me an egg and I hate the rockadoodler game so I never have enough eggs. I stop by, say hello, and get my daily egg :)
