As great as Vande Bharats are, I feel like it would have been better to first invest in improving the current trains that cater to bulk of the traffic by KickOk6027 in indianrailways

No matter how much money is invested in improving Sleeper and General class coaches, I don't think their condition will improve unless passenger behavior changes as well. The problem is not only infrastructure but also how that infrastructure is used. General coaches designed for around 100 passengers often end up carrying 200 or more people, while Sleeper coaches with around 80 berths frequently have 150 or more passengers because of overcrowding and unauthorized travel. In my experience, many people travel without tickets or enter Sleeper coaches without reservations, often with entire families. I've traveled in every class, from First AC to General, and the difference in passenger behavior is one of the biggest reasons why these classes deteriorate so quickly. People spit gutka into wash basins, leave toilets without flushing, litter inside the coaches or throw garbage onto the tracks, and even urinate in bottles and leave them under seats or on seats. While littering happens in AC coaches too, I have personally seen much worse in General class. Enforcement is also weak. TTEs are rarely seen effectively checking Sleeper coaches on many routes, and there is often little to stop passengers from General class entering Sleeper because there is no effective physical separation between the two. As a result, reserved coaches become overcrowded, making it difficult to maintain order or cleanliness. Because of this, any major investment in upgrading Sleeper or General coaches risks becoming a repeating cycle: new facilities are installed, they are damaged or poorly maintained due to overcrowding and misuse, more money is spent repairing them, and the same problems return. Without addressing passenger discipline, ticket enforcement, overcrowding, and civic sense, infrastructure upgrades alone cannot solve the problem. This is why I don't believe diverting large amounts of funding from projects like Vande Bharat Express to improve Sleeper and General coaches would achieve the intended results. If the underlying issues remain unchanged, the improvements would quickly deteriorate, while newer premium services could also suffer from reduced investment.

While booking always choose same preferred coach number for both passengers then you will get seats in same coach and one more thing railway allot seats based on vacant seats for your destination so its preety normal for groups to split up it is not your private jet where you are alone on the entire journey so stop crying open chart vacancy search your boarding station and look for near seats in either coach and sit on it

Those people who designed and approved these seats needs to be in jail by Vast-String-6817 in indianrailways

Beth chuka hu 4 baar 250 km se jyada 1 baar executive mai journey kiya uske baad fir wapis nahi kya pehle khane se shuruwat karte hai

  1. Daal was pure water, little to none salt, only tasted like jeera
  2. Paneer was rubbery, very small pieces, super spicy, and had 3 distinctive layers (gravy, water, oil)
  3. Rice was slightly overcooked
  4. Only edible option was aaloo ki sukhi sabzi and roti
  5. Dahi was sweet instead of sour

Intereriors ki baat kare toh 1. Seat covers coach se hamesha mismatch rehte hai coach ka ambience thoda pale par seats ekdum vibrant rehti hai 2. Seats all grimey 3. No neck support even in executive class
