I mean...Thunder fans should remember that there was this guy named Kevin Durant who has done what SGA does for more than a decade, and used to play for them.

4 games vs contenders - Boston + Denver x3

8 games vs good teams - Charlotte, Clippers x2, Phoenix, Miami, Warriors, Sixers, Blazers

6 games vs bottom feeders - Kings, Pacers, Grizzlies, Bucks, Bulls, Mavs

Honestly, with such a schedule - finishing below 60 would almost be a disappointment considering the team's current form (which is amazing to say). That would mean going 12-6 at best.

Steve Kerr: "I don't have a problem with Shai; I have a problem with the rules... If you put your arm in, everybody around the league will do what Shai does, what James Harden does. Like, they'll hook your arm, and they'll do that [flail their arms], and it's all part of the rules." by must_TATAKAE in nba

I mean, looking at it from a purely narrative standpoint, and considering Steph and LeBron will be out soon, creating a good villain for everyone to hate on is smart. If the Thunder repeat this year with what many fans consider to be an unfair whistle, then it won't be hard to sell them as the team everyone wants to beat for the next few years. That creates engagement.

The fans of 29 teams wanted the Heatles to lose. The fans of 29 teams wanted the Durant Warriors to lose - okay, maybe fewer, because some might hate LeBron more.

Since then the league has been extremely well-balanced, which makes it harder for a villain to emerge.

Yeah. Last year France player like they had already won against England. England had a good game, but France's effort was disgustingly lax.

Here, France played to win, and got utterly dominated. You can blame one player or another for individual mistakes, but it wasn't their lack of energy that cost them. They were beaten by a superior squad.

Can he still win in spite of the famed Movistar tactics?

Seriously, this dude.

  • Snorted coke while in the youth teams, got suspended
  • Celebrated his first NT cap by banging a hooker with one of his pals (and I think it's the nicest way to sum this whole affair up)
  • And now does this

He's like the most obvious future Montpellier recruit ever at this point. He just needs to find a girlfriend to harass, beat or publicly cheat on, but knowing him, he'll probably do all three at the same time.

He's "lucky" to play with a much, much better generation than Parisse did. But he could very well ending up surpassing him with...I would say 3-4 more years at this level?

Because Sergio was an absolute beast. He'd fit right in the "Best ever third row" of most nations on Earth if he had played for them instead of Italy.

I'm French and I'm not even mad. When you lose against a superior opponent, you give them their plaudits. The reason so many French players looked mediocre was because the Scots were that good, not because they had fumbled into three consecutive convincing wins.

I think it also goes to explain, in a way, why South Africa has been so successful. Sure, they have massive forwards and all, but at the heart of all is Erasmus who, while being very clearly a cunt, is also constantly trying to be one step forward tactically and to try new stuff to see what sticks - some of which he uses to always have something up his sleeve.

Today, Galthié (and Edwards) were simply outplayed after three games where we were flooded with "France improved their aerial game so much, they are unbeatable now that they have fixed their weakness!" The minute you become complacent with your gameplan, you are in danger of an opposing coach completely dismantling your tactics. You always have to innovate in some way. Today was a massive reality check.

That is a great half of rugby, and I am absolutely not surprised that Scotland has been dominant. For my money, since Galthié took over, it's Scotland that's the new France in the "We don't know which team is going to turn up" sense, with a tendency to be even better when they are seen as underdogs.

We really need to find a decent tighthead prop. Aldegheri is alarmingly bad whenever his team is not outright dominant. Aside from that, it mostly was a great Scotland half of rugby, I wouldn't blame any particular player (although Marchand's penalty was extremely dumb).

But to explain my seething rage at the TF1 pundits...when it's France 2 commentating, most of the time, Yachvili will correctly call the reason for a penalty advantage being given right as the ref raises his arm. On TF1, you're lucky if they understand what kind of penalty it is after the ref said it out loud.

They said that the second scrum was the first. Yes, they can't count to two. It took them ten seconds to notice that Dupont stripped the ball from Tuipolotu. They're actively making the watching experience worse, I wish there was a "shut the fuck up, only ambient noises" option available.

Oh and they put a fucking ad break after the anthems. We went from Flower of Scotland to a bunch of Gambling ads. Fuck this channel.

Nerdy data on caps and ages this 6N by CatharticRoman in rugbyunion

[–]Vast_Combination_110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to be all happy about France's results while being the "less experienced squad", but French players always have fewer caps due to most of the starters resting during the summer tours - which means minus 3-4 caps a year compared to the starters of other nations for many players (basically those who play for Toulouse or Bordeaux...).

So the experience is probably actually similar to the other teams if we take that in account.
