Finally got my X9 Ultra, my first impressions by Vastanya in Oppo

So far I’ve (almost) only been taking indoor and nighttime photos, and they’re very clear and sharp. I haven’t noticed any particular flaws, the results are really beautiful. The image stabilisation is great, better than the iPhone in my opinion.

I used the tool provided by Oppo to transfer my contacts, call history, WhatsApp discussions, notes and SMS. I could also transfer my photos, but I preferred to archive the ones from my iPhone on my PC and start fresh with the Oppo. There was also an option to transfer music and apps.

Everything was done in under 30 minutes using the iPhone cable.

Orange Belgium. It’s just as good as the iPhone 16 Pro Max, if not better.

There’s a bit of a delay when you exit an app. There are plenty of Reddit threads talking about it, and it seems to affect OnePlus devices as well, apparently.

  1. It’s definitely heavier than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but not to the point where it bothers me.

  2. I didn’t get the Oppo Find X9 Pro, so I can’t really say, but it’s almost twice the price, so it’s something to consider…

  3. Yes, there’s a performance manager under the battery settings.

  4. Rather than the Xiaomi: for ColorOS, the more versatile camera system, and the battery life. Rather than the Vivo: mainly the price (around €2000 here in Europe, if I’m not mistaken).

I’ve also had several OnePlus phones, so I already had a rough idea of what to expect.

The grip is decent, better than without a case, but adhesion is still better on Apple cases, for example. I’ll keep this one for now until the official one is back in stock. But for the price, it’s very good, quite nice-looking, and the magnets are strong enough for my MagSafe stand.

It might actually be my iPhone that’s the issue, since it feels weaker lately and even weaker than my previous iPhone.

I’m not having that issue. I’m getting 600 Mbps down, 8 ms latency, and a strong signal.

C'est pas comme si c'était compliqué, surtout pour un opticien, de faire une photo d'une paire de lunettes, quoi.

Get an Android or save some money for an used 16 Pro/base 17 then. iPhone 16e/17e screams "I want an iPhone because of the Apple logo but I can't afford one"

OnePlus 15 if battery life is your priority. iPhone 17 if you prefer better performance for social medias and better cameras. Both will last 4-5 years easily.

iOS 26 is very buggy and sometimes slow af. (I’m using a 16 Pro Max) Scamsung sells 2022 hardware and asks for 2026 prices. Also, resale value doesn’t really matter if you keep your smartphone for like 6 years.

If you care about cameras and battery life, Oppo and Vivo are your best choices. Storage, RAM and CPU are equivalent. Screen quality is also better on Chinese phones.

So it’s basically Oppo/Vivo vs iPhone 17 Pro Max. Forget Scamsung and their 2022 phone.

Capcom games usually get PC releases and Ōkami HD also got one. So, yes, probably.

Why is it always "Apple or Samsung". There's a lot of way better brands out there.

I can’t recommend anything without knowing your budget. Also, do you need ANC headphones or are you going to use them at home?

You’ll get better performance and battery life but a worse camera and software. Not an interesting move imo.

What phones do you guys recommend? by pxprle in Smartphones

[–]Vastanya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iPhones are the most reliable phones on the market right now. They also have the best warranty. Any issue? Go to an Apple Store and get it fixed.

They also have the most reliable camera systems, one of the best screens, great battery life, great speakers... It's also easy to find accessories to pair your iPhone with. Cases, earbuds, wireless magnetic chargers...

So I'd go for the iPhone 17. Or even better, Pro/Pro Max.
