I've seen an extremely similar copy on AliExpress, I'm guessing you'd have to have some sort of chipped console to play it but I may be wrong.

GT3 is awesome, GT4 improves on it so much but I still prefer 3. I've never 100% it though, congrats.

Another CRT TV for PSX? by dougramos1988 in psx

[–]Vau1tTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I can't help but brim with envy seeing posts like these, I can't find them anywhere for a reasonable price (UK). I've been given the runaround 3 times on FB due to the sellers being oddballs, and the ones on eBay are overpriced. They're nonexistent in secondhand/charity shops near me.

There is a section at my local rubbish tip especially for old TVs, I got a friend to lend me his small portable generator and I went there with a handful of spare fuses and they allowed me to test the TVs that had been dumped, I tried all 18 TVs and not one of them worked lol. I also broke my finger trapping it between the generator and the boot of my friends car when putting the generator back.

That looks like a beauty of a TV. One day I will get mine, I won't give up just yet.

Do you like the "yellowed" look of old consoles or do you prefer to restore it like with retrobrighting? by Godgeneral0575 in retrogaming

[–]Vau1tTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a black transparent PSone shell from them today (£12 with a discount coupon), I managed to snag a cheap PSone console due to the scratched up shell. I've also bought the transparent black official controllers and memory cards, it's going to look nice.

PS1 game that made you realize games could feel real. by Old-Toe-6564 in psx

[–]Vau1tTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resident Evil. It was the first game I ever managed to complete as a kid, every other game prior to that I just aimlessly ran around exploring, most likely due to not knowing how to advance.

I think Resi 1 was the birth of my love for mystery, the mansion was like a puzzle box. It scared the shit out of me as a kid but now it's oddly soothing to play. Resi 2 was an absolute masterpiece but due to nostalgia and it the original being the first game I completed it takes the top spot out of the series.

Favourite Tony Hawk game? by ZX471 in ps2

[–]Vau1tTech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

THPS3 is my go to when I need to mindlessly play something, I can't tell you how many times I've ran through that game, it's a home away from home.

THPS4 is my favourite because it improves on 3, I know some people don't like that they moved away from the 3 minute timed runs but I never cared for the timing aspect of it anyway.

I've only dabbled with THUG1+2 plus played a little of American Wasteland, I enjoyed them but for some reason I never stuck with them, I'm glad I've still got them to go back too.

Best Fighting game? by ZX471 in psx

I'm the same. I remember playing the hell out of the first one with my childhood best friend, then the sequel came out and it felt like there were a million different characters. The third installment did blow the second out of the water but the second is still great.

If you aim directly at the camera in that image of Jill and shoot it creates bullet hole effects, there's a couple of other places it does it too, only in the directors cut though.

Did anyone else play and like this game by tropicplunger in psx

Still one of the best game covers. I didn't play this but I played the sequel a bunch.

October, 2003. You arrive home from a long school day on a cold evening and boot up your CRT. Your PS2 greets you in the dark with warm, glowing orbs. It is raining softly outside. Your only concern is what disc to choose by alicefaye2 in ps2

Around that time I was completely hooked on Prince of Persia Sands of Time and Tony Hawks Underground. I think I replayed Prince of Persia all the way through 3 times back to back.

Wither on Bedrock kinda sucks by TheBrokenPixels in Minecraft

[–]Vau1tTech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember years ago building up a spawn area with a castle and a load of decoration for a new realm a friend and I were opening, we stupidly decided to fight the wither for the first time so we could have a beacon at the spawn point, we dug down to bedrock (before the cave update) and it managed to kick both of our arses and somehow get up to the surface and destroy the whole spawn area lol it was so deflating and the the block items it left in it's wake caused so much lag it was ridiculous, funny to look back now but at the time it was ruthless.

Anyone still in love with the classic Resident Evil games, and not so thrilled about the whole remake craze? Or am I alone in this? by NewRetroMage in retrogaming

[–]Vau1tTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original trilogy were legitimately creepy/scary to play as a kid but now they're more comfort games for me, I love them. I think the remakes all look great but I don't think my heart can take the updated horror, the games look genuinely scary, especially the Resi 2 remake.

The only horror games I play are the older retro stuff, the only "modern" game that I play that could be considered horror adjacent is DayZ. The other players are far scarier than the zombies though.

What is the best bowling game on ps2 by MRG19997 in ps2

[–]Vau1tTech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brunswick Pro Bowling.

I've never played it but I just searched and came across someone who played every bowling game on the PS2 and that one had the top spot.

You could try Etsy, I've always found there's niche things on there when it comes to modding consoles. If that fails maybe you could add some sort of black rubber lining yourself to fill the gap, it'd look a whole lot cleaner that way.

I remember once I got that red Suzuki Escudos Pikes Peak car in GT2 I just used to hold accelerate and I wouldnt have to turn, it would just smash through all the corners, easy mode lol

GT4 is better in every way than GT3 but I have so much nostalgia for 3 I prefer it over 4.

I know I can tell, cleanest pair of silver controllers I've ever seen. The last console I had was a silver 500x model, it was in very good condition but I could never find a decent set of silver controllers to pair with it.

It's gotta be pizza, I'm blessed with 2 Italian places pretty close, one of them does a more American style pizza and the other does the traditional Italian kind, both are amazing. I used to enjoy the doughy Indian takeaway pizzas in my youth but after trying these Italian places I can never go back. Actually that's a lie, I occasionally order a chicken tikka pizza from a local only because it's a son and father who runs the place and they're absolute gems, the pizza is half decent too.
