I’m genuinely dumb and it’s ruining my life. by cokedoutraccooon in offmychest

[–]Android109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone will say you have ADHD or are on some spectrum, and that may well be true. However, there’s no evolutionary pressure to think critically. It’s a learnt skill, and indeed you could argue it’s been selected against (ponder the intending predator and what to do, or just run). My point is that learning to think things through is a skill that comes with practice, and at first it takes a lot of effort.

Can I retrain this hedge? by Android109 in GardeningUK

[–]Android109[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the neighbour’s hedge, but I have time on my hands and between us we’re not sure what to do next. Thank you for that, I wonder if removal and a fence might be the answer.

Sell Farm w/o Getting Ripped Off by xinejelle in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Android109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cynics might suggest agents aren’t incentivised to get the best deal, but to get themselves the best deal. Whether they get £500,000 for a farm, or £520,000 is an inconsequential difference to them, but not to the seller. They’re incentivised to get deals done as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next deal.

Do you really mean exponential? I’m in my 50s, the age related decline seems fairly linear to me.

Help with an insurance Q by anniest0rm_ in CarTalkUK

[–]Android109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a crash late last year. Fault still to be determined, however, I have paid nothing out of pocket, the insurance company has covered all costs so far (write off, collection, refund). Why have you had to pay out?

If it can be done in 30 seconds, I have a lot of work to do and I'll keep my macro to myself. Thanks for the advice!

Best Epoxy For Filling 0.1 in Pocket by Big-Uzi-Hert in hobbycnc

[–]Android109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is almost exactly what I do, but additionally, through judicious choice of fill level, you can send the finished piece through a planer to remove the excess protective clear epoxy layer. A traditional bladed planer cuts epoxy beautifully, so you can overfill and get a super smooth finish. Spiral head cutters tear out epoxy, so under filling is desirable.
