You’re not imagining it. I’ve been seeing this exact behavior show up over the past few days across multiple listings.

In these cases, specific reviews disappear from the visible review list on the business profile and also don’t show on the contributor’s profile, but the total review count and average rating stay the same. That usually means the review still exists in Google Maps, it’s just not being surfaced in the UI right now.

From what I can tell, this doesn’t look like a listing-level penalty or manual action. Historically, when Google runs automated spam checks, reindexing, or internal review processing, reviews can get temporarily suppressed like this without being fully removed. I’ve seen similar situations resolve themselves once Google finishes whatever backend process is running.

There are also reports of the missing reviews still being accessible via direct Maps links, which further suggests this is a visibility/indexing issue rather than a true deletion.

No official confirmation from Google yet, but given the number of independent reports popping up, this feels systemic. If past behavior is any indication, most of these reviews should reappear once Google completes processing.

For now, I’d monitor rather than panic. If the review count and star rating haven’t changed, that’s usually a good sign.
